Business partner structure enquiry in DC1 Analyser

Related topics

In the applicable enquiries you can view detailed information that relates to those Business partner structures that have been configured in your system.

Structures can be made up of either customers or suppliers, and are arranged in an infinite number of tiers. With these business partners grouped in such a manner, you are easily able to view credit information, basic sales data and other indicators on either a group or individual level.

The tiers are on three basic levels. The Holding company resides on the highest level. Companies (or subsidiaries of the Holding company) are then added to the tiers below this. These may either be single companies, or other companies, which in turn have other subsidiaries below them. These are then termed Parent companies. However, Parent companies need not only be restricted to second level status in the tier. For example, a Parent company (on second level) might have a company (on third) below this, which is also a Parent company and has further Parent companies below this (fourth, fifth level, etc.). This is since a Parent is any company that has others ranked below it.

For more information about working with customers and suppliers in DC1, see About working with customers, and About working with suppliers respectively.

Note: Before you use the customer or supplier structure enquiry routines, make sure that you familiarise yourself with the standard routine for object enquiry described in About working with objects in DC1 Analyser, where you will find full details of the Multimedia functionality. See Getting started in DC1 Analyser for information about creating shortcuts to favourite functions.

Browsing customer structures

  1. Select the Customer structures menu item in the Supply Chain Analysis or Financials Analysis sub-menu, Object categories list, or All functions list.
  2. You access the Business partner structure browser. Click the Expand icon to expand the hierarchy to view the lower level tiers of the structure.
  3. Those customers that have an H listed beside their names are distinguished as being Holding companies (those on the highest level of the structure).
