Workload restriction enquiry, Details (BAS210C)

This panel displays the restriction details for the selected workload restriction group. The restriction groups are used in the work centre capacity maintenance and in the manufacturing order planning (create/re-schedule manufacturing orders) to control if the date is valid for planning a specific product.

Each restriction group consists of one or several restriction sequences that define the field type values that should be compared to the corresponding values on the manufacturing order. In order for workload to be planned for a manufacturing order, the specified restriction values must match the values on the manufacturing order parent item or operation.

If several sequences are defined, the sequence with the lowest number is checked first. Any following restriction sequences marked with AND will also be controlled. All restriction criteria combined through the AND value must be fulfilled in order for workload to be created for the manufacturing order.

There may be several sets of restrictions within the same restriction group. A restriction requence marked with OR indicates the starts of an additional set of restictions within the group. This sequence, and any following sequences defined with AND, will be checked if the restrictions defined in the first sequence (or first set of sequences) do not match the manufacturing order. The system will control all specified sets of restrictions in the group until a match is found.

Note: The restriction group can only be used for work centres defined as critical resources.

Group
The code and description that identify the workload restriction group.
Seq no
The sequence number indicates in what order the restrictions in this restriction group should be compared against the manufacturing order. The restriction with the lowest number will be checked first.
And/Or
The value indicates if, and in that case how, the sequences in the restriction group are related to each other.

Valid values are:

Value Description
BLANK This is only valid for the first sequence.
AND This value indicates that the sequence is an addition to the previous restriction sequences in the group. All restriction criteria combined through the AND value must be fulfilled in order for workload to be created for the manufacturing order.
OR This value indicates that the sequence is the first in an additional set of restictions within the group. This sequence, and any following sequences defined with AND, will be checked if the restrictions defined in the first sequence (or first set of sequences) do not match the manufacturing order. If several additional sets are defined, the system will search through the sets in numerical order until a match is made.
Field type
The field type that is connected to the restriction. This field, in combination with the From id and To id fields, defines what values that should be compared to the corresponding values on the manufacturing order.

Valid codes are:

Code Description
01 Item group
02 Item family
03 Item sector
04 Item category 1
05 Item category 2
06 Item category 3
07 Item category 4
08 Item category 5
09 Item category 6
10 Production technology
11 Tool
From id
This field, in combination with the Field type and To id fields, defines the values that should be compared to the corresponding values on the manufacturing order. The field type value to be used in the restriction either as a specific value or as the start value in an interval.
To id
This field, in combination with the Field type and From id fields, defines the values that should be compared to the corresponding values on the manufacturing order. The field type value to be used in the restriction as the end value in an interval.
