Sales price addition for a currency/unit (DMR05201)

The purpose of this function is to allow the user to define prices in different currencies. These new values will be displayed on the Sales prices panel in the Item file.

Price adjustments can be specified for every currency in both the Currency table and this function.

Any, or all, of the following fields can be used by this function to define a currency change criteria:

  • Item price group
  • Supplier
  • Target currency
  • Exchange rate
  • Unit
  • Target price list
  • From date. You can also specify the from date. Only prices valid at selected date and later are selected for recalculation to new currency.

These fields are the defining parameters of the change currency function. By selecting one or more fields a selection criteria is created. The change will be applied only to what matches the criteria.

The currency change will only be applied to the records that match all of the requirements specified by the criteria. The exchange rate is retrieved from the Exchange rate table, however, another exchange rate can be manually defined.

Item price group
Enter a code from the Item price group table indicating the price group that the currency is to be applied to.
Enter the supplier number or short code indicating the supplier that the currency is to be applied to.
Target currency
Mandatory entry. Enter a code from the Currency table indicating the currency in which the value is to be expressed.
Exchange rate
The exchange rate is defaulted from the Exchange rate table. The value entered field overrides this default value. Enter the new exchange rate value.
Enter the unit for the item. Depending on what has been activated and/or defined in the system, the unit can either be automatically retrieved or entered manually. Note: If no value is entered the prices for all of the existing units will be expressed in the new currency. This will also change the prices defined in the system currency.
Target price list
Enter a code from the Sales price list table indicating which price list the new currency is applied to.
From date
Optional entry. Only prices valid at selected date and later are selected for recalculation to new currency. Prices calculated in new currency are saved with the same From and to date, as for the original price validity period. If no date is entered, all periodically valid prices are selected.

Price adjusting

To value
The prices entered in this field are adjusted to the values entered in the corresponding Adjust to field. This means that for every value found in this field the price entered in the Adjust to field will be used.

For example: If To value = 5 and Adjust to = 3

If the price of an item has a sales value of 5, this means that it is equal to the value entered in the To value field. The price of that item is then adjusted to 3.
Note: The values must be entered in ascending order (from lowest to highest).

Enter the value that is to be adjusted.

Adjust to
Enter the adjustment value that the price in the To value field shall be adjusted to.
