On this panel you add and modify users to roles that have already been configured for DC1 Alert Management. Roles are helpful in a way that you can set up a number of conditions for each event that will apply for a group of users in terms of receiving messages. For example, if you want a group of people to receive messages that relate to one event, then you create a role.

Selection fields
- Role
- Displays the role you selected to work with.
- User
- This column lists the users that have already been configured for the selected role.
- Description
- This column lists the descriptions of the users that have already been configured for the selected role.
- Type
- This column indicates the role type as defined in Work with roles.

- Active
- This column denotes if the user is activated.
- Security user
- This column is only applicable if Role type (i.e. the Type column) is set to 1 for the Role ID. Security user is used for Item information exchange, i.e. when importing new items from external systems or bulk update of existing items. The item information exchange functionality is a role in Planner view. If a security user is displayed, this person must accept that update of item information is allowed.
Work with users for role (EDSD00904)
On this panel you define the properties of each of the user roles that you are creating or modifying.
- User
- Enter a user from Work with DC1 user profiles to which you want to add this role. For existing records, this field cannot be changed.
- Description
- The description of the entered user is automatically retrieved.
- Type
- Indicates the role type as defined in Work with roles.

- Active user
- Indicate if this user is to be active.
- Security user
- This field is only displayed if Role type (i.e. the Type field) is set to 1 for the Role ID and is an optional entry. Security user is used for Item information exchange, i.e. when importing new items from external systems or bulk update of existing items. The item information exchange functionality is a role in Planner view. If a security user is entered, this person must accept that update of item information is allowed. The user defined as “security user” can also be defined with a “security user”, which means that you can set up a security model with an unlimited number of levels of users.
Example:
Chief manager – Level 3 – (Top level – will do the final confirmation which allows the User (Level 1) to do the update
Manager – Level 2 – Security user = “Chief manager”
User – Level 1 – Security user = “Manager”
