Work with event types (EDSD00104)
On this panel you are able to create, modify and define the basic properties of the event types used for DC1 Alert Management.
- Event type
- Mandatory entry. Enter a name to identify the event type that you are creating. Existing records cannot be changed.
- Description
- Mandatory entry. Enter a description of the event type that you are creating.
- Active
- Indicate it this event type should be active. NO is defaulted.
- Driver program
- Mandatory entry. Enter the program number for the driver that will be used for this event type. Existing records cannot be changed. Note: This value is automatically set to EDSR370 as default. It is recommended that you keep the default, as this is the DC1 standard program which is used to drive DC1 Alert Management. This field has been created with the possibility to assign another program should your System Administrator want to create one.
- Data queue routine
- Displays the data queue routine name which cannot be changed.
- Number of parameters
- Indicates the number of parameters that are used for this event type. The value is determined and updated to this field when the actual parameters are created for this event type.
- Hold limits
- Indicates if limitations have been created for one or more of the parameters used for this event type, meaning the parameters are holding limits.
- Hold filters
- Indicates if filters have been created for one or more of the parameters used for this event type, meaning the parameters are holding filters.
- Valid for hours
- The number of hours entered in this field will be added to the creation time of messages. This is then displayed on the Work with messages panel. However, this value does not delay the presentation of the message to the user in any way and is displayed only for informational purposes.
Note: This value is also used to determine if old messages that have not been responded to can be deleted. These messages will remain in the AMT-message database. During the reorganisation run of AMT messages (via the AMT-Message reorganisation menu item) all messages that have not been responded to will be deleted if the Valid until date is in the past (i.e., today’s date is less than the Valid until date). The Valid until date is calculated from the value entered in this (Valid for hours) field.
- Alert header text
- Mandatory entry. Enter text that will be used as the header for this event type when an alert is created. This is the header that users will see once an alert is sent to them. The field may be changed.

Set to YES for those events that you want to have the created messages saved for future reference, should the data queue be interrupted and then having to be re-started for some reason.
- Escalation days
- Enter the number of days that should pass before you want this message to be considered old enough to be escalated to a next level user.
