The values for Industry standard and Company target are not stored in the Balance file. If you want to compare results against these you have to enter them manually.

Note: Although values for Actual and Base are normally retrieved from the Balance file, these can optionally be manually entered. A manual entry will override any retrieved values and be indicated with the symbol.

When manually entering values you have the following three options from which to choose. For the selected year you can:

  • Enter a total value
  • Enter values per applicable period
  • Enter a value and select the budget curve that will be used to distribute the values over the periods

The procedure of adding or changing these values is done through the same window.

  1. Select the applicable component and, from the menu bar, choose Edit and then the applicable (Industry Standard, Company target, Actual or Base).
  2. You access the Edit reference values window:
  3. Tip: You do not have to manually access this panel for each component you want to change. You can select the applicable component, one by one, and define your selections without leaving this window.

    Define the following:

    Selections
Select that applicable for manually entering values, choosing from Industry standard, Company target or Actual/base values.
    Year
Select the year on which you want to base the values.
    Enter value for selected year
Enter the total value for the selected year. The unit in which this should be entered, displayed to the right of the input field, depends on the Unit text defined for the component. Note: You cannot enter values on both total and period level.
Enter period values for selected year
If you want to enter values on period level, click on the applicable period field in the table and enter the value.
    Distribute values using budget curves
Here you can select the budget curve that will be used to distribute the values over the periods. Click Show curve to graphically view the weights for the different periods.
    Value
Enter the value to distribute and click Distribute.
    Enabled
Manually entered values take precedence over retrieved data. This means they will override any retrieved data. If you want to just simulate the changes, without actually updating any information, deselect this option to inactivate your manually entered values. The values are not physically deleted.

    Click Save and then Exit.
