When the calibration functionality is used for a tool, the planning for preventive service is handled in DC1 Manufacturing. It is defined for the tool when and how the calibration will take place. See About setting up and working with tools used in DC1 Manufacturing.
When the defined calibration point is reached, a service order is automatically created for the tool. All reporting and follow-up is handled in DC1 Service. When the service order is closed, the calibration status on the tool is updated automatically.
To connect an existing service object to a tool utilizing the calibration functionality do as follows:
- Select the Work with service objects menu item.
- On the initial panel, select the applicable service object and click Change.
- On the Work with service objects detail panel complete the following fields:
- Tool
- Enter a tool from the Tool/fixtures file indicating to which tool the service object should be connected.
- Service type calibr
- Enter a code from the Preventive service type table indicating the service type to be used for the creation of preventive service orders when the tool has reached the calibration point.
- You return to the initial panel. Select the applicable service object and click Prev service.
- You access Work with service objects, Preventive service information. Click Add.
- On the detail panel complete the following fields:
- Preventive service
- Enter the same preventive service type as defined in Service type calibr on the Work with service objects panel.
- Note: Depending on how the preventive service type is set up, information might be defaulted in several fields on this panel.
- Order type
- Enter a code from the Sales order type table. The order type must be a service order type.
Click OK to update the information.
Click OK.
Note: The preventive service calendar is not updated for a service object that is connected to a tool using the calibration function.
Exit the routine.
A service order will be created in DC1 Service when the calibration point is reached for the tool.
