The labelling code program is used to identify the types of labels used on item packaging during its life within the system. Each code holds details of the information which is to be printed on the label and whether this information is to be bar-coded as well as being in human readable format.
Two main types of labels may be produced; those for internal use during the storage of goods whilst in stock and those for use on packages used during transportation from stock to customer. Labels for internal use may be produced for both normal and non-conforming stock.
If the Quantity and Unit of measure fields are selected for printing on the label, then these will be in stock units.
If the EAN number field is selected for printing on the label, then this will be the EAN relative to the ordered unit of measure and therefore itself will contain the stock unit information.
If barcodes are selected, then the barcode ID held in the DIS control file will be used.
Note: A specific type of printer is required to print barcodes. Contact your system administrator to ensure that a printer of the required type is attached to your system. If the selected labelling code indicates that barcodes are to be printed and the required type of printer is not selected then the information will be printed in human readable form.
