Close a batch

  1. Return to the initial Financial system transaction entry (journal header) panel and click Exit.

    Mark this action to resume entry.
    Interrupt
    Mark this action to interrupt temporarily.
    Interrupt/list
    Mark this action to interrupt temporarily and print an interrupted batch list.
    Close batch
    Mark this action to close the batch and create a journal.
    Print EU statistics
    Only valid if EU reporting is active in the system. If you set this field to YES, then a separate listing with all entered statistics is printed.
    Print VAT journal
    Indicate if you want to print a list with VAT information for the invoices in the batch.
    Description
    Mandatory entry if you interrupt temporarily. You can use the description to locate the batch among all the other interrupted batches.

    Mark the Close batch action and change the printout parameters, if needed. Click OK.

  4. You access the Financial system transaction entry update panel with debit and credit amounts in system currency per combination of accounting period, voucher type and voucher number.
  5. If any of the document types used in the batch requires balance check also on document type and number, then the system will show also these balances.

    If there are no differences, then you click OK to close the batch and create the journal. The journal will receive the next free number in the JOU number series for the accounting year in the batch.

    A closed batch list is printed, and the journals will be printed when the journal has updated the General Ledger. The system will inform you if there are any errors in the journal. You will then have to correct the journal in the Maintaining journals in error routine.
