This automatic generation of preventive service orders program will refer to the Object file and check those objects that are due for preventive service. It is, therefore, important that certain information has been completed in the Service object file. Also, the generation of preventive service orders can be done, by using the preventive service order suggestions.
In the Object file, a service object can be completed with information that will result in service orders being periodically created for the object, (i.e. preventive service orders). The information to be specified includes the Service interval for this automatic generation, Next inspection date and Service order type. Refer to the Object file for further information about these fields.
Note: The information required in the Object file to be able to activate this generation has to be specified on the object after it has been sold, and added to that file. To identify those objects that have been sold but not completed with the information needed to automatically create preventive service orders via this program, a selection in the program Print service object file program can be defined which will provide a printout of all such objects.
Note: The service object may have multiple preventive service definitions attached to it. For example, it may be possible to have one quarterly service and one (different) yearly service.
Checks are performed during the creation process. If there are any errors the order itself will be created, but you must correct the error to be able to continue processing. If the created order is in error, this will be printed on the Generated service orders’ list.

Selection
- Suggestion number
- Enter either a suggestion number or choose from the different selection criteria below. The suggestion is a suggestion for the object to be included in the preventive service maintenance order generation.
- Service period
- All objects specified in the Object file with a Next inspection date within the date range specified here will be included in the selection, if the Hold generation code is set to NO for the object.
- Customer number
- Enter one or several customer numbers in the selection fields.
- Item
- Enter one or several items in the selection fields.
- Serial number
- Enter one or several serial numbers in the selection fields.
