Work with batch programs (ASGD03801)

The entries in this file include all DC1 standard batch programs for all applications in the system. Manually entered batch programs and job streams are also included in this file.

The purpose of this file is to define batch programs and job streams in the DC1 system. Before you create a job stream in the Maintain job control table program, you must enter the job stream in this table. Also, all new batch programs, created for customer modifications, must be added to this file.

Note: You should not delete the standard batch programs delivered with the DC1 system, i.e. all programs with the subset *STANDARD.

Description
Subset
Enter the subset to which the program belongs.

Identity
PTF
If the PTF is defined as a mandatory entry for the subset in Work with subsets you must complete this field. The validation rules, if any, are also defined in Work with subsets.
Modification number
If the modification number is defined as a mandatory entry for the subset in Work with subsets you must complete this field. The validation rules, if any, are also defined in Work with subsets.
Application
Batch type
This field is used only for new entries.

Valid types are:

Type Purpose
1 For all batch programs. A standard batch program is for example Print invoice.
2 For all batch job streams. Normally batch job streams are user-defined in the Maintain job control table program. An example is a job stream, which is executed at night, that first runs the Print invoice program and then the Print invoice journal program.
3 For all interactive job streams. The programs *SETUP and *SETUPxx (where xx is the company code), delivered with the DC1 system, are examples of interactive job streams.
Execute from window
Set this field to YES if you want to be able to execute the batch program or job stream from the Display menu options window program (this program can be found on the Hidden option menu). Enter NO if you do not want this possibility.
Routine
This field is the connection to the DC1 tool MEDEA. If a menu option exists for this batch program or job stream, enter the name of the menu option here. This field is mandatory if the Execute from window field is set to YES.
Start up program
This field can only be completed if you entered 1 in the Batch type field. Enter the name of the program containing the first display file displayed.
Job name
This field can only be completed if you entered 1 in the Batch type field. The name you enter will be the job name, which means the job name displayed when you display/work with jobs (accessed, for example, by entering the WRKUSRJOB command).
Change date

Work with batch programs, Copy (ASGD03805)

Program
Displays the program you selected to copy.
Subset
Displays the subset you selected to copy.

New program
Enter the new program you are creating.
New subset
Enter the new subset to which the program belongs.
