Using this functionality you can search for your items, business partners and business partner addresses via user defined, attribute-related search fields. The search fields are defined in Attribute Templates. The templates, together with the search fields, are ideally designed to categorize your items, business partners and business partner addresses by attributes, facilitating an easy, quick search. (See Setting up attribute search handling in DC1 for instructions).
This functionality is accessed via a designated function key after you click the window prompt icon in any Item or Customer/Supplier field and can be used to facilitate search and sales capabilities.
Attribute search mode is accessible from the following locations:
- Select item panel: This panel is accessible from any Item field in the system. The Attribute search mode is accessed via the Attr function key. The user will be able to enter simple or complex search criteria using the search fields for the applicable Item attribute template to look up the item.
- Smart sales order entry: The user will be able to enter simple or complex search criteria using the search fields in Attribute search mode, to look up the item and book sales on the items found.
- Select business partners panel: This panel is accessible from any Customer/Supplier field in the system. The Attribute search mode is accessed via the Attribute search function key. The user will be able to enter simple or complex search criteria using the search fields for the applicable Business partner attribute template to look up the business partner or business partner address.
The first time you use this functionality to search for items, business partners or business partner addresses the template with the default sequence equal to 1 will be loaded by default and the associated search fields displayed. If you switch to any other Item or Business partner Attribute template, and click Ok, the search fields will change accordingly. Note: The last displayed/used Attribute template will load together with the associated search fields (in the same session) the next time you access Attribute search mode.
Field values can be entered manually. You can also use the and/or logic as well as the more selections functionality to control/narrow down your search.
