Constant fields generation in PRTF (ASGD3001)

The program is used to generate a file containing all constants in a printer file. A constant is for example the heading on a printout. These constants can be translated into different languages in the Maintain PRTF translation file.

The program will replace all the constants in the member of the printer source file with a new field name called, for example, P10001, where P1 is the prefix you enter in the Field prefix field and 10001 is a just a serial number.

Src type PRTF/DSPF
Enter the source type for which you want to generate constant fields.
From source file
Enter the name of the source file containing the printer file(s) for which you want to generate constant fields. The constants in the printer source file will be replaced with a new field name, for example P10001, where P1 is the prefix you enter in the Field prefix field.
Library
Enter the library of the printer source file for which you want to generate constant fields.
Member
Enter the name of the printer source member(s). You can state either a name, a generic name or *ALL.
Language
Enter a code from the Language table to define the language in which the constants in the printer file are written.
Field prefix
Enter a field prefix. The system automatically proposes P1. There are no rules for what to enter. Note: If a program uses several printer files, it is important to run this generation for each printer file, because you must enter different prefixes for the different printer files. An example for such a program is DMR190, which uses both printer file DMR344P and DMR362P.
To source file
The program will replace all the constants in the member of the printer source file with a new field name called, for example, P10001. If you do not want to change the original source file member, you might enter another source file than the original source file here.
Library
The program will replace all the constants in the member of the printer source file with a new field name called, for example, P10001. If you do not want to change the original source file member, you might enter another library for the source file than the original source file library here.
Compile gen source
Set this field to YES if you want the changed member to be compiled after the changes has been performed. Otherwise set it to NO.
Library compiled obj
Enter the name of the object library, where the compiled object will be stored.
Subset
For new entries, enter the subset to which the panel value belongs. For existing entries, displays the name of the subset to which the panel value belongs.
