Two panel names are valid for this panel, depending on the status of the Cost by warehouse feature.
If you are activating this feature (via the DIS control file) this panel prompts with the panel name Activate cost price per whs.
If you are deactivating this feature (via the DIS control file) this panel prompts with the panel name Deactivate cost price per whs. When activating/deactivating this feature the following implications should be taken into consideration:
Note: Regardless of the action, if the cost type in the system is 2 (Standard cost) the system will re-calculate the standard costs and create bookkeeping transactions.
Activating for an existing installation
All cost price information on item level from the Inventory information panel in the Item file is updated in the corresponding fields in the Warehouse panel in the Item file for the applicable warehouse. The Standard cost and Standard purchase price are set to zero. The determination of how much it costs to supply the warehouse with goods (taking into consideration all costs incurred) will take effect the next time you enter a purchase order for that item.
Deactivating
The Standard purchase price on warehouse level for the item is updated on item level (the Inventory information panel in Item file). If the main warehouse is active, this will be used to retrieve the cost price. If the main warehouse is not active, the Standard purchase price may be set to zero. All other cost prices on warehouse level are set to zero.
Bookkeeping transactions are created as follows if cost type is 1 (average cost): With the difference between the average cost on item level and the average cost for the item on warehouse level for the quantities affecting stock value in the actual warehouse.
