On this panel you can maintain the details for the material that is included in the configurator bill of material.
- Bill of material
- The code that identifies the configurator bill of material.
- Sequence number
- The sequence number that is registered in intervals of 10 indicates the order in which the structure lines are displayed.
- Type
- The code indicates if the component refers to a variable item (configurator parameter) or a fixed item.
Code Description V Variable (config parameter) F Fixed (item)
- Component
- The code and description of the variable item (configurator parameter) or fixed item that is to be included as a component in the bill of material.
- Quantity
- The quantity of components to be included in the configurator bill of material.
- Quantity formula
- Mandatory entry. The formula that is used to calculate the quantity of components to be included in the generated bill of material at product configuration.
- Set-up quantity
- The fixed set-up quantity for materials. This set-up quantity can be deemed as an estimated reservation that you plan on consuming for the machine set-up before real production, and is independent of the order’s quantity. When manufacturing orders are entered, the components required quantity is calculated as follows: order quantity x component quantity + fixed set-up quantity.
Example:
Fixed set-up quantity = 10
Order quantity = 5
Component quantity = 1
Component required quantity = 15
- Used in operation
- This field is only displayed when DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. The first operation number in use for the production personnel when component should be used in the production process.
- Pick in operation
- This field is only displayed when DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. Optional entry. If this field is completed the component is reserved for production purposes for the starting time of this operation.
If this field is left blank the component will be reserved according to what is defined in Used in operation.
If both the Pick in operation and Used in operation fields are left blank the component will be reserved according to the manufacturing order’s start date.
- Price formula
- This field is only displayed when DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. The formula that is used to calculate an additional charge for this component. Note: Price calculation using price formula is not used when configuring an order structure item or when an item is used as a configured component in an order structure with Sales price calc = 3.
- Phantom item
- This field is only displayed when DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. Indicates if the component item is to be handled as a phantom item in manufacturing orders. Note: If a selected item at product configuration refers to a new configurator bill of material (configuration on lower selection levels) a material record for the selected item will only be created on the manufacturing order if phantom item is NO.
- Mandatory
- Indicates if this component is mandatory in a generated bill of material structure.
- Valid From, To
- The dates (from and to) indicate when the component is valid in the bill of material structure. This is validated at product configuration.
- Allow change
- Indicates if this component is allowed to be changed (quantity, price, etc) at product configuration.
- Position number
- This field is only displayed when DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. The position number for the component item. This can be used in the shop floor printout to print the manufacturing order bill of material in position number order.
- Unit
- The unit of the component that is to be used in a sales order structure. The unit must be defined in the Unit table. The system retrieves the default sales unit defined for the component in the Item file if no unit is entered.
- Critical
- Indicates if the component is critical. An availability check for all critical components within an order structure can be specified in the Structure type table, to take place during the running of the Print sales order pick list program. This is only used for the configuration of sales order structures.
- Re-usable
- This field is only displayed if the Re-usable material field is set to YES in the MFG control file. Indicates if the component is re-usable if scrapped quantity is reported. A proposal is displayed during operation reporting and the user can make a decision whether the item should be put to stock.
- Floor stock code
- This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. The floor stock code indicates if material connected to manufacturing orders will be backflushed. If a value is entered it will override the floor stock code that was entered in the Item file.
- Calculate weight
- This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated. Indicates if the component’s weight, gross weight and net weight should be added to the weight of the configured item. If this field is set to YES, the weight will be updated on the sales order item line. Note: Weight calculation is not used for the configuration of order structure items.
- Variant
- This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated and if the Variant handling field is set to YES in the MFG control file. The variant of the item that is used as a component in the generated bill of material. An item can have several variants, where parts of the bill of material and/or bill of routing differ from the base structure. The base structure always has variant 000.
- Allocation warehouse
- This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated and if the Main whs mtrl alloc field is set to YES in the MFG control file. Indicates the warehouse in which the item is to be reserved for the manufacturing order.
- Attr
- The attributes of the variable component (configurator parameter).
- Text
- The description of the attribute.
- Test
- This field, in combination with Value from-to on the Configurator item maintenance panel, is used to define the conditions that allow a component to be added to the generated bill of material. The component will only be added to the bill of material if the values that are selected at product configuration meet the defined conditions. The code indicates what test operand to be used when comparing the attribute values selected at product configuration with those defined for the configurator parameter in Value from-to on the Configurator item maintenance panel. Note: If this field is left blank this attribute will not be used when searching for component items.
