These entries are used for the automatic numbering of G/L journals. The number after last used is fetched by the system when you close a routine that generates G/L postings. The only number series that is used in DC1 Financials is JOU, and you must define this series for each accounting year. If JOU has not been defined for a year, no update of transactions in that year can be done.
When you set up a number series, it is important that the space between the first and last number to use is sufficiently large, so that the program does not turn over and start from the beginning again within the same year. You can define series with up to five digit numbers.
Selection according to journal number can be made on several listings. There is also a control list for printing journal numbers that have not been used.
