Access Add mode and enter the name of the new menu, user and subset. Tip: Press F4 or click the prompt icon to retrieve values. Note: When you create a new menu and the User profile you enter is not *ALL, the system automatically creates a duplicate record with *ALL as the user. This is for translation purposes, whereby the description of the *ALL record can be translated. If you do not want the duplicate *ALL record to remain in the system you can delete it. Click OK when ready.
In the Work with menus, Add panel, enter the description of the new menu and application code. If the subset requires the Identity, PTF and Modification number, enter this information. Click OK when ready.
In the Work with menus, Menu options panel, link up to 14 menu items. Enter the applicable menu option number in the first field and then the menu item name in the second field. Tip: Press F4 or click the prompt icon to view and select.
For each new menu you create, you have to manually add the hidden option menu items. Press F8 to access the Hidden options panel and enter the applicable option number and menu item. Click OK to update.
Press F7 to access the Work with menu items routine and create a new menu item with the same name as the menu, but preceded with M_.
Give the menu item a description and define the GO command that you will type, on any command line, to access this menu.
