In DC1 Inventory Control, much of the inventory management information is stored in the Item file on the item/warehouse level. There are two ways to create inventory control records in the Item file:
- Automatically through the IC initialisation routine
Item/warehouse records can be loaded through the IC initialisation routine. To save time, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of the automatic loading function. See Setting up DC1 Inventory Control for instructions. - Manually via item maintenance in DC1 Distribution
Item/warehouse records can be added manually through Work with items. See Set up inventory control item information manually for instructions.
Note: Some of the inventory fields in the Item file can be updated through the fast update function. See About working with fast updates for more details.
