On this panel you create and modify parameters for each event type. From here you are also able to access and edit the basic properties of these parameters.
Options
Replacements | Select this option to handle parameter value replacements. |

Function keys
Re-number sequence | Re-number the sequence of parameters for the selected event type. If you have changed the sequence number of one of the parameters on this panel, or created a new parameter, then these will be automatically re-numbered, in the order that you have indicated, when this function key is used. |
- Event type
- Displays the name and description of the selected event type.
- Seq
- This column displays the sequence order in which the related parameter will be considered, within the selected event type. The parameter with the lowest sequence number will be processed first, followed by the next lowest number and so on.
- Parameter
- This column lists the names of the parameters that have been created for the selected event type.
- Description
- This column lists the descriptions of the parameters for the selected event type.
- M/O
- This column denotes if the parameter is mandatory (M) or optional (O).
- Ufr
- This column denotes if the parameter is used to find receivers.
- Dig
- The digit shown in this column displays the number of spaces that make up the length of the parameter, thereby determining its start and end.
- Dec
- The digit shown in this column indicates the number of decimal points that are in place for the parameter. The field can be changed for existing records.
- Lim
- This column denotes if limitations have been created for the parameter.
- Fil
- This column denotes if filters have been created for the parameter.

On this panel you define the properties of each of the parameters that are used for the event types.
Function keys
Retrieve | Retrieve the attributes of a parameter that has already been created. |
- Event type
- Displays the name and description of the event type that you selected to create or change parameters for.
- Sequence
- Mandatory entry. Enter the sequence number that you want this parameter to be processed in. The lower the number, the sooner in the chain of process it will be executed. This field cannot be changed.
- Parameter
- Mandatory entry. Enter a name to identify the parameter you are creating. The field can be changed for existing records.
- Used to find receiv
- Indicates if receivers have been activated for the parameter. YES means that the parameter is to be used to find receivers.
- Used for escalation
- Indicate if you want the parameter to be used for the purposes of escalating or promoting of a record. NO is defaulted. The field can be changed for existing records.
- Used for limitation
- Indicates if limitations have been created for the parameter. YES means that the parameter is to be used for limitation purposes.
- Used for filters
- Indicates if filters have been created for the parameter. YES means that the parameter is to be used for filtering purposes.
- Used in header text
- Indicate if this parameter is to be used as text in the message header sent to the receiver. The field can be changed for existing records.
- Mandatory/optional
- Indicate if you want this parameter to be a mandatory (M) element in the selected event, or optional (O). The field can be changed for existing records.
- Type
- Enter a panel value code to inform the system of the format of the information that is to be searched and presented. The field can be changed for existing records.

Database value
- Number of digits
- Enter the number of digits to indicate the length this parameter should have when processed in a database. The field can be changed for existing records.
Note: When setting up a parameter for a Text type (i.e. the Type field is set to T), the database digits must be 25.
- Decimals
- Enter the point at which you want a decimal (if at all) to be included in this parameter when processed in a database. The field can be changed for existing records.
Panel value
- Number of digits
- Enter the number of digits to indicate the length this parameter should have when displayed on panels. The field can be changed for existing records.
Note: When setting up a parameter for a Text type (i.e. the Type field is set to T), the Panel digits must be 72.
- Decimals
- Enter the point at which you want a decimal (if at all) to be included in this parameter when displayed on panels. The field can be changed for existing records.
