Function keys

Text Maintain text that is connected to the configurator item.

Parameter
Attr
The code that identifies the attribute.
Text
The description of the attribute.
Value from-to
The values that belong to the attribute, either a single value (from) or a range of values (from-to). Depending on if the configurator item is a parent item or a component, this field has the following functions:

  • Parent items:
The from value, if specified, will be used as a default value at product configuration.
  • Components:
This field, in combination with Test on the Configurator BOM maintenance panel, is used to define the conditions that allow the component to be added to the generated bill of material. The component will only be added to the bill of material if the values that are selected at product configuration meet the defined conditions.

Note: If needed, click Alternative selections to add an additional range of values defining the conditions for the component.

I/O
Indicates if the attribute is input, output or hidden for the current user at product configuration process.

Valid values are:

Value Description
1 User can change the attribute value.
2 User can only view the value.
3 Attribute value hidden.

Note: This field must be left blank if the bill of material field does not hold any information, i.e. the configuration is set up for selecting a component.

Default retr
Indicates if and when the default value of the attribute should be retrieved at product configuration process for the parent item. The retrieval of attribute value can be performed before the product configuration process or after.

Valid values are:

Value Description
*Blank No default value retrieved.
1 Before configuration process.
2 After configuration process.
Global def
Indicates the retrieval of the global default value at product configuration for the parent item. The global default attribute can only be retrieved from a previously entered order line with matching attribute. In other words, the global attribute can not be retrieved if not used on any previous order lines.

Valid values are:

Value Description
1 YES. Global default will be retrieved.
2 NO.

Note: If this field is set to YES and global attribute has been found during configuration process, the global default value overrides any set up for Default retr.

O
Displays an asterisk (*) if override values are defined for the attribute code.
