This program is used to define the various reasons for lost sales, which are used in the Lost sales tracking function.
This information is used during Sales order entry and Quotation entry whenever the following occurs:
- a sales order line is deleted
- a quotation line is deleted
- the ordered quantity is lowered
The lost sales information can also, optionally, be updated in the Lost sales statistics file, which enables you to view, for example:
- Total lost sales value
- Net lost sales value
- Lost profit
- Lost quantity

Selection fields
- Reason
- This column lists the existing reason codes.
- Print unfulfilled
- Indicates if lost sales statistics for the related reason code should be printed for items whose supply could not be fulfilled.
- Reason, unfulfilled
- Unfulfilled supply information can be printed on sales order confirmations, pick lists, transport notes and invoices. This column displays a description of the reason why the item supply was unfulfilled for the corresponding reason code. This description will be used as a heading under which all the details from the lost sales statistics file will be printed.
- Update sales history
- Indicates if the Lost sales statistics file is to be updated when the associated lost sale reason is entered in Work with sales orders.
- Update quote history
- Indicates if the Lost sales statistics file is to be updated when the associated lost sale reason is entered in Work with sales quotations.
- Demand percent
- Only displayed if DC1 Inventory Control is installed and activated. This column lists the percentages of the lost sales quantities that should remain in the DC1 Inventory Control demand history and used for inventory control forecasting.
- Competitor mandatory
- Indicates if competitor should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost for the lost sales statistics on quotations.
- Manufacturer mand
- Indicates if manufacturer should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost for the lost sales statistics on quotations.
- Price mandatory
- Indicates if price should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost for the lost sales statistics on quotations.
- Text mandatory
- Indicates if text should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost for the lost sales statistics on quotations.
Work with lost sales reasons (DIR02704)
On this panel you define or maintain the reason code details.

- Lost sales statistics can be generated for different documents. This field is used to indicate if statistics should be gathered for unfulfilled supply items.
Indicate if you want to print lost sales statistics (for this reason code) for items whose supply could not be fulfilled.

- Unfulfilled supply information can be printed on SO confirmations, pick lists, transport notes and on invoices. Enter a reason which describes why the item supply was unfulfilled. This description will be used as a heading under which all the details from the Lost sales statistics file will be printed.
- Update sales history
- Indicate if the Lost sales statistics file is to be updated when the associated lost sale reason is entered in Work with sales orders.
- Update quote history
- Indicate if the Lost sales statistics file is to be updated when the associated lost sale reason is entered in Work with sales quotations.
- Demand percent

For example:
- For a lost sale reason code used for “Wrong entry”, you would set this field to 0. When you delete a quantity that was added to an order by mistake, no quantity should remain in the demand history.
- For a lost sale reason code used for “Not in stock”, you would set this field to 100. When you delete a quantity that should have been sold, assuming it had been available, all quantity should remain in the demand history.
- Competitor mandatory
- This field is only used for lost sales statistics on quotations. Indicate if the competitor should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost.
- Manufacturer mand
- This field is only used for lost sales statistics on quotations. Indicate if the manufacturer should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost.
- Price mandatory
- This field is only used for lost sales statistics on quotations. Indicate if the price should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost.
- Text mandatory
- This field is only used for lost sales statistics on quotations. Indicate if the text should be mandatory in Work with sales quotations when a line is entered as lost.

- Displays the codes of lost sales reasons you selected to copy.
- New reason
- Enter codes to identify the new reasons you are defining.
