This procedure is the same as for a batch that is not date handled with the exception that more fields can be maintained.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 in Maintain a batch without date handling, but select a batch item that has date handling.
- On the Batch maintenance detail panel you can maintain the following additional fields for a date handled item:
- Manufacturing date
- The date this batch was manufactured. This field is used for informational purposes only.
- Incubation date
- Enter a date to indicate how long this batch must be kept in stock before it can be sold.
- Last arrival date
- Enter the latest date that this batch can arrive at the customer’s site. This field is used by the system to retrieve the oldest batches during pick list printout.
- Tip: If you leave this field blank but complete the Batch security days and Use by date fields, the date will be automatically calculated when you click OK.
- Batch security days
- Goods must be shipped to customers well before the expiry date. Enter the minimum number of days leeway needed between the item’s expiry date and the date it arrives at the customer. This date is typically the difference between the Last arrival date and the Use by date. Another commonly used term for this is the minimum shelf life time.
- Use by date
- Enter the expiry date of the batch.
- Tip: If you leave this field blank but complete the Batch security days and Last arrival date fields, the system will automatically calculate the date when you click OK. The current date is not included in the calculation.
- User def date 3 and 4 text
- If headings were specified in the User def date 3 – 4 text fields in the Item file, Inventory information panel, they will be the field labels displayed here at the bottom of the panel. These fields are used for informational purposes only.
Click OK twice and exit the routine.
