Purchase requisition headers and lines can automatically be created by utilizing the smart order entry interface if the Smart order entry PR field is defined for your profile in Work with DC1 user profiles.
Smart order entry is an extension of the purchase requisition maintenance routine and gives you instant access to a vast array of information which includes various item, order and inventory searches with booking functions on the information found. Lines booked in the Smart order entry are updated line by line in the Purchase requisition maintenance.
Via function keys you also have the ability to:
- Set up default values which will be used for all requisition lines created from that point on in the Smart order entry session.
- Change details for the line. Changes are recorded internally and updated during the acceptance (booking) process.
- Toggle different information for each Smart entry panel (mode).
The modes

Prev requisition (Previous requisition) |
A panel where you can view purchase requisition line data from previous requisitions and perform line-selective or total requisition line duplications. |
History | A panel where you can view historical purchase requisitions within a specified period of time and perform line-selective or total purchase requisition line duplications. |
Item search | A panel where you can locate items, using search words derived from up to 25 different fields from the Item file, and order them or transfer the item to another search function. |
Assortment | A panel where you can book purchase requisitions from pre-defined item lists (assortments) with unique pricing and discounts. |
Warehouse | A panel where you can view and book purchase requisition lines from warehouse balances for items. You can also limit the search to only those warehouses that have a specified minimum quantity. |
- Select the Work with purchase requisitions menu item.
- On the initial panel, click Add.
- You access the Smart order entry interface (i.e. the Work with purchase requisitions, “applicable mode” panel). The mode accessed is that defined for your user profile. You can toggle to any other mode. The purchase requisition number has been created and the system updates the description of the requisition with the text Preliminary. Retrieving the lines can be done in the following ways:
- Mark the lines you want to create (retrieve) and click the Acc mark function key. You return to the initial panel where the PR header has been created and the selected lines retrieved.
- Do not select any lines and click the Acc all function key. You return to the initial panel where the PR header has been created and all lines retrieved.
- Do not make any selection and click OK to just create the PR header without any lines. You return to the initial panel where the PR header has been created. You will need to access Line level and either create the line(s) manually (see Register a purchase requisition for instructions) or click Smart order entry on line level to access the smart order entry interface to select and automatically retrieve the lines.
