- This column lists the available templates.
Work with template controls (GDMD82004)
Depending on the type of template you selected (i.e. Item or Business partner) to work with, this panel displays all existing panel names in the Item file or Business partner file. Each panel has a predefined template number.

Selection fields
- Template
- Displays the selected type of template.
- Number
- This column lists the predefined template numbers of the panels.
- Sequence
- This column lists the sequence, or order, in which the templates are displayed by this program.
- Program
- This column lists the programs that the templates can be connected to.
- Default
- Indicates if any program fields are linked to the template.
- Auto
- Only displayed when you are working with Business partner file templates. Indicates if the values for fields on the related panel with this template should automatically be created from the defaults.
- Auto generation
- Only displayed when you are working with Item file templates. Indicates if the values for fields on the related panel with this template should automatically be created from the defaults.
- Active
- Indicates if the template is activated, i.e. if it is available for use.
- Fwd maint active
- Indicates if the template is available for use by the Forward maintenance program.
- Status
- Field is currently not in use.
- Delete code
- Indicates if entries can be deleted. System-defined entries cannot be deleted.
- Option type
- Displays the type of template you are working with; 1=Item, 2=Business partner.
- Application code
- Displays a code from the the Application definition table identifying to which application the related template belongs.
- Short description
- Displays a short description of the panel name for the template number.
- Enquiry program
- Displays the program ID indicating what panel to call when enquiring on real data or default values for the panel using the related template.
- Fwd maint valid
- Indicates if the related template is supported by the Forward maintenance program.
Work with template controls (GDMD82007)
This program is the underlying control for all existing Item and Business partner panels in DC1. It is preloaded when installing the system. Template control records for Business partners are loaded if DC1 General is installed. Template control records for Items are loaded if DC1 Distribution is installed.
The data entered controls the template and default handling in the Maintain templates/defaults routines, deciding which panels will be presented for entry of data and in which sequence.
Function keys
- Template
- Displays the selected type of template.
- Template number
- Enter the number of the new template. The template number identifies the various panels used when working with the Maintain templates/defaults, Work with business partners/items and Business partner/item file enquiries routines. Note: The template number cannot be greater than 30.
- Sequence number
- Enter the sequence number deciding in what order the panel is to appear when working with templates. Note: The sequence number should be the same as the template number.
- Description
- Enter the description of the panel name for the template number.
- Short description
- This field is displayed when maintaining templates. Enter the short description of the panel name for the template number.
- Application

The field is used as an extra test to check that the application, to which the panel belongs, is installed. If not installed, the panel will not be displayed in the routines Maintain templates/defaults.
Note: You cannot maintain this field for those templates which are predefined in the system.
- Maintenance program
- Enter the program id indicating what panel to call when maintaining real data or default values. Note: You cannot maintain this field for those templates which are predefined in the system.
- Enquiry program
- Enter the program id indicating what panel to call when enquiring on real data or default values. Note: You cannot maintain this field for those templates which are predefined in the system.
- Default handling
- This field is set to NO by default. Note: You cannot maintain this field for those templates which are predefined in the system. Set this field to YES if default values can be entered for this panel.

- Auto generation
- This field is only displayed when working with Business partner file templates. You cannot maintain this field for those templates which are predefined in the system. Set this field to YES if the values for fields on this panel (with this template) should automatically be created from the defaults. This means that when you maintain a customer or supplier using this template, this panel will never be displayed for maintenance.
Note: If a default value for the panel is in error, this panel will be displayed during Business partner file maintenance.
- Active
- This field is set to NO by default. Set this field to YES indicating if this panel for the corresponding template number is active. The setting in this field can be changed from YES to NO and vice versa. If inactivated, the panel will not appear when working with templates in the Maintain templates routine.
- Fwd maint valid
- Indicates if the template is supported by the Forward maintenance program. This will allow fields from that program/panel to be used as a selection criteria. Note: In order for this option to work, the Fwd maint active parameter below must be set to YES.
- Fwd maint active
- Note: This value is established by your system administrator. Indicates if the template is activated in the system for use by the Forward maintenance program. If this field is set to YES it denotes that the Work with forward maintenance proposals, New values, Items/Business partners program will be able to use the fields from this template as a tool in which to search through the Business partner file and the Item file.
