Work with BCF replication sets (BIRD00101)

Related topics

This panel displays existing replication sets.

Options

Files Select this option to maintain the files in this replication set.
Initial load Select this option to create triggers and load the target files for this replication set. This can be done from the replication set for all files that exist within the set or on individual file level on the Work with BCF replication sets, Files panel. Note: If data already exists in the source files it is recommended to run this option.
Create trigger Select this option to create triggers for this replication set. This can be done from the replication set for all files that exist within the set or on individual file level on the Work with BCF replication sets, Files panel.
Delete trigger Select this option to delete triggers for this replication set. This can be done from the replication set for all files that exist within the set or on individual file level on the Work with BCF replication sets, Files panel.
Companies Select this option to access Work with BCF replication sets, Companies.

Selection fields

Repl set
This column lists the identification of the replication set.
Description
This column lists the description of the replication set.
Subset
This column lists the subset, if any, to which the replication set belongs.

On this panel you define the parameters for the replication set.

Replication set name
Enter the identification of the replication set.
Description
Enter the description for the replication set.
Source library
Enter the library from where you are replicating data.
Target library
Enter the library to where you want the data replicated.
DC1 system library
Enter the DC1 system library if the source library is an DC1 database library. This will allow you to select from the available DC1 files that exist in the DC1 database library when you are adding your files for replication.
Program prefix
Defaults with the value BI for new records but can be changed. This field, applicable for each company on company level, is used in both the create and remove trigger routines to facilitate unique naming of triggers and trigger programs. One example is to have two replication sets where all SRO* files have prefix BI and the remaining files B2. This would prevent duplicate naming where files are named the same after the initial prefix of SRO, ANO, DIO, etc.
Subset
Enter the subset to which the replication set belongs.

Identity
PTF/Mod number

This panel displays the libraries that should be replicated. The triggers will be created and the files loaded according to when you indicate that the update should start. The initial load can only be run when the file(s) is not locked. To check if any of the files are locked, you can do this on the following two levels:

  1. Initial load on the initial panel for the replication set. If the Locked files field is set to YES you cannot run it. You have to drill down to file level to check which files are locked.
  2. Initial load directly on file level.

Note: Take the necessary steps to unlock the file.

Repl set
Displays the replication set to which the files belong.
Description
Displays the description of the replication set.
Locked files
Indicates if the files for this replication set are locked.
Start update at
Indicate when the triggers should be created and the loading of the target files should take place and click OK. Valid values are Hour + Minute. Leave the field blank if you want it to start immediately.
