This panel displays the existing subsets that have been set up in your system. You can obtain a printout of the contents in the table from the list program Table printout program selection.
Options
Selection fields
- Key seq
- Displays the subset key (i.e. the key sequence) for the corresponding subset.
- Subset
- This column lists the names of subsets for the corresponding key sequence. This name will be displayed on every panel where subsets are involved.
- Description
- This column lists the descriptions of the corresponding subsets.
- Identity
- Indicates if it is mandatory to define the identity when creating records in the system files belonging to the corresponding subset.
- PTF
- Indicates if it is mandatory to define the PTF when creating records in the system files belonging to the corresponding subset.
- Mod no
- Indicates if it is mandatory to define the modification number when creating records in the system files belonging to the corresponding subset.
- Identity validation pgm name
- Displays the name of the program to be used to validate the identity entered when creating records in system files belonging to the corresponding subset.
- Release validation pgm name
- Displays the name of the program to be used to validate the PTF entered when creating records in system files belonging to the corresponding subset.
- Mod nr validation pgm name
- Displays the name of the program to be used to validate the modification number entered when creating records belonging to the corresponding subset.
- Secured
- Only displayed if you have signed on as a user with the same authority as the system administrator. Indicates if the corresponding subset is secured. Users must have the same authority as the system administrator to be able to add, change or delete records in system files belonging to the secured subsets.
- Subset active in environment
- Only displayed if you have signed on as a user with the same authority as the system administrator. Indicates if the corresponding subset is used in the system. A subset which is active in environment is allowed to be used for records added in system files.
Work with subsets (ASTD10004)
Note: All pre-loaded subsets have a unique key sequence (1 through 9, which is the maximum). The key sequence is a field in the file that is used as key when retrieving data. The key sequence for the subset is stored in the system files, (e.g. subset *STANDARD is converted to key sequence 9 before writing to the file). This means that the key sequence (1-9) of the different subsets is the actual key in all files. The order in which the data is retrieved is dependent on the key sequence number (i.e. data entered with key sequence 1 will take precedence over data entered with a higher key sequence, 2-9).
Function keys
- Subset key
- Displays the subset key (i.e. the key sequence) for the subset.
- Subset alias
- Enter the name of the subset. This name will be displayed on every panel where subsets are involved.
- Description
Mandatory
In the fields below you define whether it is mandatory to define the identity, PTF and modification level when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Identity
- Indicate if it is mandatory to define the identity when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- PTF
- Indicate if it is mandatory to define the PTF when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Modification number
- Indicate if it is mandatory to define the modification number when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
Validation programs
In the fields below you define whether the name of the validation programs to be used when validating the identity, PTF and modification number entered when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Identity
- Enter the name of the program to be used to validate the identity entered when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- PTF
- Enter the name of the program to be used to validate the PTF entered when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Modification number
- Enter the name of the program to be used to validate the modification number entered when creating records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Subset secured
- Only displayed if you have signed on as a user with the same authority as the system administrator. Indicate if this subset should be secured. If set to YES, users must have the same authority as the system administrator to be able to add, change or delete records in system files belonging to this subset.
- Subset active
- Only displayed if you have signed on as a user with the same authority as the system administrator. Indicate if this subset should be used in the system. If set to YES, this subset is allowed to be used for records added in system files. If set to NO, records cannot be added in system files with this subset.
