Update an account movement proposal

This function is only valid for update proposals. See Create an account movement proposal for more information. When you have created an account movement proposal you need to update the proposal in order to update the asset balances and the G/L transactions. This function also enables you to print update lists.

Note: You are not permitted to update a proposal with an error in the accounting or calculation rules. The type of error is shown on the Account movement – proposal overview panel. In the Acct field you can see if there is an error in the accounting rules, or if a balance movement will take place. The Rule field will tell you if there is an error in the calculation rules.

  1. Select the Work with account movements menu item.
  2. On Account movement – proposal overview, select the proposal you want to update.
  3. You access Account movement – activity selection. Tick Print/Update files and click OK. Note: This activity is only shown when you are working with a valid update proposal.
  4. You access Account movement – proposal update. The following fields are relevant:
  5. Movement list
    This field enables you to print an Account movement report to view details concerning the created proposal. Set the account movement types you want to include in the list to YES.
    Update G/L transactions
    Set all the account movement types for which you want to create G/L postings to YES.
    Interface type
    The system proposes the interface types defined for each depreciation type, but you may change to another interface type if you wish. The proposed interface type for the acquisition account movement is retrieved from the main depreciation type.
    Accounting period
    Enter the accounting period for the postings. The system proposes the current period.
    Voucher date
    Enter the voucher date for the postings. Today’s date is defaulted.

    To update the Asset balance file, print a list and transfer transactions to the G/L. Click OK and exit the routine.
