This panel displays the fields that you selected and sequenced into useful groups of information in the Work with CMC field definition file routine. The selected fields are defined to be the most frequently used in your company and are listed first. You can, however, select other fields from the list to be part of your data set.
On this panel you select the fields you want to connect to the data set you are working with.
Before you start the design process, you have to consider whom the data set is created for and in what CMC view the data set will be used. Once the panel design is perfected, you are recommended to save it under an identity that resembles the CMC role that will have access to the data set.
Function keys
| Simulation | Access the CMC simulation panel, i.e., to preview the CMC with all the specified fields. This enables you to view the design in progress. |
- Data set
- Displays the name and description of the data set you are working with.
- No of column
- Displays the number of columns defined for the selected data set, but may be changed. Note: If you are working in the XTUI Client environment, then only one column will be displayed independent of how many columns you specify.
- Seq
- Enter any number between 0 and 9999 to select the field and to determine in what sequence it is to be displayed and click OK. The selected fields are listed first and renumbered in intervals of ten.
Note: When you have selected a field, the system analyses the field selection. Using the number of columns specified for the data set and considering the field data lengths, the system assigns line numbers to each selected field. If a field is too long to fit in the specified number of columns, it will be forced to a new line number.
