Work with DI transfer routines (ECND01001)

For DC1 Corporate Data Maintenance purposes, the following send and receive routines are preloaded with all necessary information:

  • Send routine = CDMSND
  • Receive routine = CDMRCV

Note: If you want to create more send routines, only one can be active at one time.

Options

Active jobs Select this option to access the Work with active jobs program.
Start routine Select this option to manually start the transfer routine. Note: If the Automatic start field is set to YES and the routine is not active, the first user that logs on to DC1 in the applicable CDM company will initiate the CDM transfer automatically. If there is anything to send and/or receive, it will be done according to the run interval.
End routine Select this option to manually end the transfer routine. Note: If the Automatic start field is set to YES and the routine is not active, the first user that logs on to DC1 in the applicable CDM company will initiate the CDM transfer automatically. If there is anything to send and/or receive, it will be done according to the run interval. To prevent the job from starting automatically, set the Automatic start to NO.

Selection fields

Work with DI transfer routines (ECND01004)

For DC1 Corporate Data Maintenance purposes, all necessary information is preloaded for the Send/Receive routines.

Function keys

Routine id
Description
Application
Enter/displays the application to which the transfer routine belongs.
Automatic start
Indicates if the transfer functionality should be initiated automatically by the first user that logs on to DC1 in the applicable CDM company. If this field is set to YES, data will be sent/received, if there is anything in the send/receive log, according to the run interval.
Admin program
For CDM purposes, displays the preloaded administration program that should trigger the other transfer-related programs to start. This program will do the following:

  • trigger the program that is entered in the Pgm to run before field , (i.e. the program that checks the send log for data),
  • which in turn triggers the program that is entered in the Transfer program field (i.e. the program used to physically transfer the data and performs the mapping),
  • which in turn triggers the program that is entered in the Pgm to run after field (i.e. the program that validates the data, complimenting with default values, and writes to the actual file if correct. Otherwise writes to the error log).
Run interval
Enter, in seconds, how often the system should check for data to be transferred (sent or received).
Admin data queue
For CDM purposes, displays the preloaded administration data queue which is used by the administration program.
Description
For CDM purposes, displays the description of preloaded administration data queue.
Maximum entry length
Displays the maximum length of the data queue.
Pgm to run before
Although this field is primarily used for the CDM transfer functionality, it is open for input if needed for any other transfer functionality. For CDM purposes: Displays, in the Sending company the preloaded program that is used to check the send log for any data that is ready to be sent.
Transfer program
For the Send routine, this program checks the transfer control file for anything to be sent. If data exists, it picks the data from the DI Interchange files, performs the mapping and places the information in the Send address (outbound Archive directory) on the IFS.

For the Receiving routine and those business partners that are connected to this routine id, this program checks the Receive address on the IFS for any data. If data exists, it performs the mapping.

Direction
Displays S for Send or R for receive.
Pgm to run after
Although this field is primarily used for the CDM transfer functionality, it is open for input if needed for any other transfer functionality. For CDM purposes, this field displays, in the Receiving company, the program that complements the data with any default values and then validates the data. If the data is correct it writes the data to the actual files. If there are any errors, it sends the erroneous data to the error log.
