This panel can be accessed both from the Enquiry program selection and from the Customer Management Console (CMC) hub. When it is accessed from the enquiry list, all business partner types except for type 9 (competitor, manufacturer, prospect) can be viewed. When it is accessed from CMC, only customers of types 1 (customer only) and 3 (both customer and supplier) can be viewed.
This program is used to present a list of contact person related information set up for your customer or supplier. The information is retrieved from various places in the Business partner file. Some of the fields may not be displayed, depending on what is defined for your customer/supplier.
Note: Contact information pertaining to business partner roles are displayed only if the contact is set as the default contact for the related role. See About working with external contacts for an overview of the Business partner contacts functionality.
Note: If you accessed the panel from the CMC hub, then only certain information will be available through your assigned CMC role in the User profile table.
- Business partner
- Enter a business partner number and click OK to display the contact references that have been set up for your customer/supplier.
- Type
- This column lists different functions/roles to which a contact or user has been assigned for the business partner. It also lists the client types, mediums of communication, that have been activated for each contact and role.
Functions/Roles
External contacts are established in the Contacts table. Internal handlers are established in the Signature table. The following contact information can be displayed for a business partner:
- Cust contact person
- Displays the name of the customer’s default contact person, if defined in the Business partner file maintenance/Customer file.
- Service handler
- Only displayed if DC1 Service is installed and activated. Displays the name of the service handler from the Signature table as set up for the customer in the Business partner file maintenance/Customer file.
- Main salesman
- Displays the name of the responsible salesman from the Signature table as set up for the customer. The main salesman is defined in the Business partner file maintenance/Customer file.
- Additional salesman
- Displays the name of the additional salesman from the Signature table as set up for the customer in the Business partner file maintenance/Customer file. If more than one is defined, all will be presented in alphabetical order.
- Sales & Marketing
- Only displayed if DC1 Sales & Marketing Support is installed and activated. Displays the name and title of the contact person.
- A/R contact person
- Displays the name of the person set up as default responsible for accounts receivable questions, if defined in the Business partner file( A/R basic data panel).
- A/R release handler
- Displays the name of the handler from the Signature table that has the authority to release orders that have been held for this particular customer. The release handler is defined in the Business partner file (A/R basic data panel).
- Supp contact person
- Displays the name of the supplier’s default contact person, if defined in the Business partner file maintenance/Supplier file.
- Supplier handler
- Displays the name of the attestor from the Signature table set up for the customer in the Business partner file maintenance/Supplier file.
- A/P contact person
- Displays the name of the default contact person responsible for accounts payable questions, if defined in the Business partner file (A/P basic data panel).
Client types
The activated client types and communication details per external contact and role are displayed here as well, for example:
- Fax number
- Modem number
- Phone number
- E-mail address
Only displayed if DC1 Alert Management is installed and activated. This type displays the e-mail address used for sending alert messages. - Other
This type displays any other number defined for a contact’s client type, such as telex number or e-mail address used for sending mail through Output Manager.
- Name/location
- This column lists all users assigned as handlers and those contacts that have been connected as a contact for the related role. Or, displays the location to which the client type has been directed.
If a default number for contacting the office of your business partner is specified (Business partner file, Phone numbers panel), then it is indicated in this column as (Default).
- Phone
- This column lists the phone numbers of your business partners.
