An interest invoice proposal is created based on the interest rule and reflects the debtor’s late payment of invoices at the time of creation. After the interest proposal is updated it disappears from the view. The invoices created and updated can be viewed via the Interest invoicing history routine. To monitor the same debtor’s overdue situation later, you have to create a new proposal.
- Select the Work with interest invoice proposals menu item.
- You access Work with interest invoicing proposals, Overview. The Overview panel is the main interest invoice proposal panel. It contains the interest invoice proposal file in which all created proposals are stored. From this panel you perform most of the tasks in this routine.
- You access the first Add proposal panel. On this panel, you can select on several parameters which control debtor and interest invoice conditions. For detailed information about the different selection panels in this routine, see the Panel help. Click Next.
- You access the second Add proposal panel. On this panel you can further select on parameters that control the selection of documents that should be included in interest invoices that are to be issued from the proposal you are creating.
- Calculation date
- The date entered here will not be used for interest calculation if for the applied Interest rule the Interest handling field value was set to 1.
Enter the date for which the interest calculation should be done. All documents with a due date up to and including the given date, (minus the debtor’s grace period), are valid for the selection, if all other selection criteria are fulfilled.
Today’s date is automatically proposed, but if you are behind with updating of payments received, you can select another date. This date is only for the calculation, it is the selection date. At Interest invoicing proposal update this date will be proposed as the Interest invoice document date.
- Negative invoices
- NO is defaulted denoting that only interest invoices with either a zero or a positive total amount should be included. Set to YES to only include interest invoices with a negative total amount. If you leave the field blank, then all interest invoices are included.
- Print control list
- Indicate if you want to print a control list of the interest invoice proposal you are creating.
You create an interest invoice proposal by entering selection criteria and specification values on two subsequent panels. Click Add.
In the Specification section of this panel, by completing the following fields, you are able to control other aspects of the interest invoice proposal creation:
Click OK. The system automatically creates the interest invoices and retrieves the documents which are overdue for payment according to your selections and connects them to each applicable interest invoice included in the proposal. If the Group by cost centre field for the applied interest rule was set to NO, the system proposes one interest invoice per debtor and currency, except for sundry debtors, which have one interest invoice per document. If the Group by cost centre field for the applied interest rule was set to YES, then the system will propose one interest invoice per debtor, currency, and cost centre.
If you set the Print control list field to NO, you return to the Overview panel where the interest proposal is stored.
If you set the Print control list field to YES you access the Print control list panel where you can make additional selections for the control list and change the default printing parameters.
