Work with DC1 user profiles (ASGD96004)
The purpose of this program is to define a number of defaults for each user of the system.
If you create a user profile named SYSTEM, the information you define for this user will be used for any user that does not have his/her own profile. However, this is not recommended to do – all users that are going to work in the company should have its own user profile.
- User profile
- Description
- The description (name) of the entered user profile is automatically retrieved from the corresponding user profile in the iSeries when you are creating new user profiles.
Note: The user creating the user profile has to have *USE authority to the user profile object in iSeries. Otherwise the description is not retrieved automatically.
If you are creating a user profile which does not exist in the iSeries, you have to define the description manually.
- Active
- Indicate if the user is allowed to log on to DC1. This field is set to YES by default. Change the setting to NO if you want to inactivate the user, thereby prohibiting access to DC1.

When you log on to a company, the fictitious entry *LANGBAS in the library list of this company is exchanged with the language library for the language entered for the user.
