Query run control record details, Selection field controls (ASTD43101)

In this panel you define the number of parameters and type the user can send to the query at run time.

Function keys

User ID
Displays for which user profiles the record is valid.
Request name
Displays the name of the query run control.
Desc
Displays the description of the selected query run control, but can be changed.

Field label

All fields below this column heading are the headers that will be displayed to the user at run time.

Entry length

If the Alpha/num field field is completed the fields below this column heading must be completed with the maximum length of the value entered at run time.

Window

All fields below this column heading can be completed. Enter the name of the window that could be used when entering parameters running the query run control.

Date field 1-2
Enter a field label to identify a date selection field to present to the user at run time.
Period field 1-2
Enter a field label to identify a period selection field to present to the user at run time.
Alpha/num field 1 – 6
If the data that should be entered is an alpha-numeric value, complete the fields according to the header description.
Numeric field 1 – 6
If the data that should be entered is a numeric value, complete the fields according to the header description.

Query run control record details, Run controls (ASTD43102)

This is the second panel for defining the appearance and usage of the query run control.

Function keys

User ID
Displays for which user profiles the record is valid.
Request name
Displays the name and description of the query run control.
Run command 1
Enter the command that will execute the query. RUNQRY QRY(Library/Queryname). No other commands should be entered here.
Run command 2
Complete this command line if a second command should be executed after running the query.

Output controls

These fields will be the default values at run time. The settings can be overridden at run time.

Output type
Enter the default output type for the query.

Valid entries are:

Output type Description
*RUNOPT Directs the RUNQRY command to process according to the run option set in the query itself.
*PRINTER Directs the RUNQRY output to the specified printer.
*DISPLAY Directs the RUNQRY to be displayed interactively.
Output form
Specify if the query should be run in detail or summary mode.

Valid entries are:

Output form Description
*RUNOPT Directs the RUNQRY command to process according to the run option set in the query application.
*DETAIL Directs the RUNQRY command to produce detailed output.
*SUMMARY Directs the RUNQRY command to produce summary output.
Printer
Specify the printer that will be defaulted at run time. The printer settings can be overridden.
Copies
Enter the number of copies you want for your printout.

Copy from

User ID
Displays the user ID of the record you are copying.
Request
Displays the name and description of the record you are copying.

Copy from

User ID
Enter the user ID of the new record you are creating.
Request
Enter the name and description of the new record.

Query run control file maintenance, Rename record (ASTD43107)

On this panel you enter the new user id, request name and description for the record that is renamed.

From user ID
Displays the user ID of the record you are copying.
From request
Displays the name and description of the record you are copying.

To user ID
Enter the user ID of the new record you are creating.
To request
Enter the name and description of the new record.

Apply default settings to user specific records (ASTD43108)

You will be prompted to apply changes to user specific records. This is the case if you have made any changes to a record set up for user ID *ALL and the record was copied to other user IDs at run time.

Set this field to YES if the changes should be applied to all existing user specific records.
