Object event tracking scopes can be set up if you want to automatically track an event that occurs for all sales, purchase and manufacturing orders (depending on the tracking scope), or for a specific:
- Customer, order type or a combination of both (applicable for a sales order)
- Supplier, order type or a combination of both (applicable for a purchase order)
- Order type only (applicable for a manufacturing order)
Example:
An example would be that you always want to know when invoices are printed for a specific customer.
You do not have to manually trigger the tracking (via the Track option) for the sales order, purchase order or manufacturing order. Every time the event occurs, the system automatically tracks the event and updates the Work with tracked object events, History file. In addition, an alert message will be sent to the applicable recipient if the event for sales order tracking, purchase order tracking and manufacturing order tracking (depending on your requirement) is activated in Work with event types, and all other required information is set up. See Configure the system to send/receive alert messages for more information.
