On this panel you define the characteristic exceptions (i.e. standard price exceptions per characteristic value). Depending on the entered criteria, items might receive a different base sales price than the one defined as the standard for any item belonging to the applicable grouping structure. You add the lines, defining the standard sales price operator and price factor that will be used to calculate the standard sales price for the characteristic exception. Per line, you then define the characteristic criteria that must be met in order for the exception to be applied.
A mandatory validation must be performed (via the Integrity check option) if the Combined rules field is set to NO for the SSP price group on the Work with item classification definition, Standard sales price panel. This integrity check will check that the item connected to the SSP price group (for the Item classification definition) is only connected to one characteristic exception set-up. See Combined rules flag for characteristic exceptions in Item Classification pricing for more information.
The panel provides an overview of all SSP characteristic exceptions, listing the following information:
Note: Some exceptions could be displayed if copied from the SPP list (the Copy from SPP list option on the Work with item classification, Standard sales price groups, Current panel). Characteristic exception conditions are copied but calculation formula is set to pre-loaded formula SPP (SPP calculated for item).
- Line code, which is a sequence number used to position the characteristic exception. It is not used in any calculation.
- The characteristics used for the exception, with an operator used for testing, and the value on which the characteristic is tested.
- The pricing related formula used to calculate the SSP characteristic exception price.
- The resulting standard sales price for the characteristic exception if it can be calculated according to the formula entered on the SSP, Characteristics Exceptions, Detail panel. Cannot be entered manually. When the price cannot be calculated N/A is displayed.
- Code for YES if the condition is deemed erroneous by the integrity checking routine.
- Code for YES if quantity dependent prices have been defined for the characteristic exception.

Selection fields
- Price list
- The price list to which the SSP price group is connected.
- Standard sales price
- The standard sales price that is defined for the SSP price group if it can be calculated according to the formula entered in SSP group header. When the price cannot be calculated N/A is displayed.
- Currency
- The standard sales price currency for the SSP price group.
- Classification unit
- The unit in which the standard sales prices are calculated. When the SSP is downloaded this unit is converted to the item sales unit.
- From date
- The start date of the pricing period for the standard sales price.
- To date
- The end date of the pricing period for the standard sales price. The date is calculated automatically from the Valid from date from the next record added. The To date in the last record is always blank.
- Version
- The SSP version number. Version numbers are assigned to the SSP groups defined with the same item classification profile 1, item classification profile 2, price list, currency and from date.
- Line
- This column lists the unique line number of the characteristic exception. Several criteria can be connected to one line number if the Combined rules flag is set to NO. If the Combined rules flag is set to YES only one characteristic exception can be connected to a line.
- Characteristic
- This column lists the characteristic information retrieved from the SSP Characteristics exception criteria panel. If only one characteristic is connected to a line, the characteristic is displayed. If more than one characteristic is found, the word *MULT is displayed. Multiple characteristics (conditions) can only be connected to one line if the Combined rules flag is set to NO.
- Op
- This column lists the operator defined for the characteristic and value.
- Value
- This column lists the value for the applicable characteristic. The format of the value (alphanumeric or numeric) is defined at characteristic header level (Work with characteristics).
- Formula
- This column lists the pricing related formula used to calculate the SSP characteristic exception price.
- Sales price
- This column lists the standard sales price value calculated for the exception. Standard sales price value cannot be calculated if the exception formula is based on SPP, SC or SCS. If such is the case, N/A is displayed.
- Q
- This column is set to YES if quantity dependent prices are assigned to the characteristics exception. The column is not displayed if Combined rules is set to YES.
- E
- This column is set to YES if an integrity checking error occurred for this exception.

Enter the applicable value.
- Sales price
- Displays the standard sales price value calculated for the exception. When the formula or formula parameters are changed, the sales price is recalculated. The standard sales price value cannot be calculated if the exception formula is based on SPP, SC or SCS. If such is the case, N/A is displayed.
- Error
- Displayed after updating the new record. This field is set to YES if there is an error.
