The already existing fields are preloaded in your system via the Update preloaded application tables and retrieved from the Field reference file.
Note: This procedure can only be performed if you have sufficient DC1 programming knowledge. However, an authorised DC1 System Administrator can maintain the file.
- Select the CMC field definitions menu item.
- You access the Work with CMC field definition file panel listing all preloaded fields and their predefined sequential order. You can sequence the fields in order of preference. Click Add.
- On the detail panel, the following fields are mandatory:
- Field
- Enter a unique code that will identify the new field you are creating. E.g., you want to have access to your customer’s VAT registration number, which is stored in the system via the field name TREG. Here you would enter TREG. Note: The value entered in this field may be the same as in the FRF field provided that the record is unique.
- FRF field
- Enter a code from the Field reference file. This parameter is used for retrieving data definitions preloaded in your system.
- Database files
- Enter the DC1 database file(s) that you wish to view to find a record. If more than one file is used they must be separated by a comma.
- Database field
- Enter the name of the field from which the value is retrieved. The entered field must exist in one of the database files entered in the Database files field.
- Key values
- Key values are used to specify how the value is retrieved, i.e. the selection criteria using SQL syntax. Selection must be made among the files specified in the Database files field on this panel, or of type &CUNO for reference to the selected customer in the CMC.
For information regarding other fields on this panel, see the Panel help.
Click OK twice to update and Back to return to the Work with CMC field definition file panel.
Optionally, you can enter a number in the Seq field next to the new field name to define where in the file it should reside. Click OK twice to confirm the new sequence. The system automatically renumbers the fields in tens.
Exit the routine.
