This means that you rip apart a parent item to get a required component. This is accomplished by registering a manufacturing order with a negative order quantity. When you receive the manufacturing order, the components will be reported to stock instead of the parent item.
- Select the Work with manufacturing orders menu item.
- You access Work with manufacturing order. Click Add to create a new manufacturing order.
- You access Manufacturing order maintenance. Complete the fields as described in Manually create a manufacturing order, but with the following exceptions:
- Item
- Enter the parent item that should be torn down.
- Quantity
- Enter a negative quantity indicating how many items should be torn down.
- You access Manufacturing order maintenance, Header. Click Operations or Material to make sure that the item structure is fine. The bill of material should display negative component quantities. Exit the routine. The components will be reported into stock during the manufacturing order reception routine.
Click OK.
