This panel displays the menus and corresponding descriptions that have been set up in your system. Also displayed is the user profile of the user/group profile to whom the menu is accessible, and the subset to which it belongs. All menus, delivered with every DC1 base release, are linked to subset *STANDARD.
Generally speaking, you can add, change or delete entries in the file.
You have the option to build/customise your own menus, listing a maximum of fourteen menu items you most often work with. The structure of your menu(s) is entirely up to you. You can combine menu items that will directly access a program and/or menu items that will call another menu.
The new menu(s) you create can be valid for just your user profile, or any user in the system. Note: When you create a new menu and the User profile you enter is not *ALL, the system automatically creates a duplicate record with *ALL as the user. This is for translation purposes, whereby the description of the *ALL record can be translated. If you do not want the duplicate *ALL record to remain in the system you can delete it.
To be able to access your new menu you must also create a new menu item, via the Work with menu items routine, with the same name as the menu, but preceded by M_.
Note: A menu can exist more than once, but with different subsets. When accessing the menu in DC1, you will always access the menu that has the lowest subset. The lowest subset is defined by the Subset key in the Subset table.
