The following describes a stock movement from transit stock to normal stock.
Prerequisites
- The BtB function must be active in the system. This is defined in the DIS control file.
- You can only move stock out of transit stock; never into transit stock.
- Select the Work with inventory menu item.
- You access Work with inventory, Locations, All records if the Warehouse defaulted for your user profile is a DC1 Warehouse Management controlled warehouse; else Work with inventory, Items, All records. To switch to another warehouse, click the Select warehouse function key and select the applicable warehouse.
To move inventory you can choose from the following two alternatives:
- Highlight the applicable inventory transaction and click the Warehouse movement option to move a part of or the whole item inventory to another warehouse. Note: Only movements within the same country is allowed. Otherwise, the movement must be done using IRO orders.
- Click the Entry function key. On the Inventory adjustment panel, click the Warehouse movement function key. When you access the Inventory movement panel the Item, Warehouse and “from” Zone/Location fields will be open for input. Note: Only movements within the same country is allowed. Otherwise, the movement must be done using IRO orders.
- On the Work with inventory, Inventory movement panel, the fields to be completed will depend on how you accessed this panel.
- Warehouse
- Displays the warehouse in which the item is stored. If this panel was accessed in Entry mode (i.e. you clicked the Entry function key on the initial panel, and then the Warehouse movement function key), this field is open for input.
- Item
- Displays the item code. If this panel was accessed in Entry mode (i.e. you clicked the Entry function key on the initial panel, and then the Warehouse movement function key), this field is open for input.
- Zone/Location
- Displays the zone and location where the item is stored. If this panel was accessed in Entry mode (i.e. you clicked the Entry function key on the initial panel, and then the Warehouse movement function key), this field is open for input.
- Receiving warehouse
- Enter the warehouse into which you are moving the goods.
- Receiving zone/location
- If the warehouse is a DC1 Warehouse Management controlled warehouse, enter the receiving zone and location.
- Quantity
- Enter the quantity being moved.
- Transit
- Set this field to YES.
- Order reference
- Enter the order reference (i.e. the purchase order or manufacturing order). If FIFO or Average cost is used in the system then the cost price will be retrieved from the order.
Complete any other mandatory fields you are flagged to complete and click OK to create the transaction.
