This panel can be accessed from a vast number of programs within DC1. The text you enter is connected to the type of entity from which this panel was accessed.
In the Document text types table you can view all document text types to which text can be connected.
The top part of the panel displays information about the entity to which the text is connected. The fields displayed differ depending on the document text type. You can also see the function which is currently activated.
The text you enter can, depending on the routine from which this panel was accessed, be printed on external and internal documents. To view those documents, if any, click Doc. To define on which documents the text entered should be printed, click Text set.
When new text is entered, that text will be the content of text set number 1. If only one text is entered, only text set number 1 is created.
Text sets are also used if you want to translate a text into several languages.
Note: To display detailed information about all links in a document, click Fnc list and select Display text links.
Function keys
Doc | View the documents on which the text will be printed. To change the documents on which the text should be printed/not printed, click Text set. |
Retrieve | Retrieve text from another document within DC1. Using this function key you can also create a link to text entered on another document. |
Text set | Only valid for texts stored in the General text file. Work with text sets. Using this function key you can, for example, enter text in other languages, enter text which should only be printed on some specific documents, etc. |
Note: When text is entered for the first time on this document, the text will belong to text set number 1.

Edit text (GDMD38504)
This panel displays the document text types you can choose from when you are retrieving existing text. What you see depend on the following parameters:
- All document text types from the Document text type table, within the calling application and DC1 General, are listed. This means that if you are adding text to a purchase order, only document text types from DC1 Distribution and DC1 General are listed.
- If you select a record in the Text retrieval group field and click OK, you will only see the text types that are activated for that text retrieval group.
Options
Select | Select this option for the record you want to choose. If you, for example, select text type *SALORDLIN (sales order lines), you will access a panel where all order lines for which text are defined are displayed. From this panel you can select an order line to retrieve the text on that order line.

- Text retrieval group
- Enter a record from the Text retrieval groups table to view only the text types that are activated for that text retrieval group.
Edit text (GDMD38508)
This panel displays all documents belonging to the text type you selected on the previous panel. From here you can select the document from which you want to retrieve the text.
Options
Select | Select this option to choose the record from which you want to retrieve text. If you, for example, have selected text type *SALORDLIN (sales order lines) on the previous panel, you can now select an order line from which text should be retrieved. |

Edit text (GDMD38511)
This panel can be accessed in both preview and retrieve mode. The function field in the top part of the panel displays which mode is currently used.
When in retrieve mode, this panel displays the text you are about to retrieve and its link. You can copy the text or the link manually to the document you are working with.
Note: If you copy the link to your document, all text displayed on this panel will be inserted in the document. If you only want to retrieve part of the text you have to copy that text manually and paste it in your document.

- Link
- Displays the link to the text. You can copy this link manually and paste it in the text editor to create a link to the selected text.
Edit text (GDMD38522)
This panel can be accessed in both text set maintenance and text set retrieval mode. The function field in the top part of the panel displays which mode is currently used.
Depending on the mode you are working in, the following options are available on this panel:
Options (Work with text sets)
Add | Select this option to add a new text set. Note: You are only allowed to add several text sets if the Multiple text sets field is set to YES for the document text type in the Document text type table. This does not apply to document text type *ARREM (reminder texts). |
Text | Select this option to view the text for the text set. |
Documents | Select this option to work with the documents connected to this document text type. Use this option if you want to define on which documents the text should be printed. |

Edit text (GDMD38525)
This panel is displayed if you selected to add, change or view text sets. If you selected to change the text set, the only field that can be changed is the Description field.

- Enter a code from the Language table, indicating the language of the text entered in the text set. Note: This field can only be completed if the Multiple language field in the Document text type table is set to YES for the current document.

- Enter the name of the text set(s) to which you are copying. The field is mandatory.
- New language
- Enter a code from the Language table indicating the language of the text to which you are copying. Note: This field can only be completed if the Multiple language field in the Document text type table is YES for the current document.

Edit text (GDMD38533)
On this panel you define on which document(s) the text should be printed. The Print column indicates if the text should be printed on a particular document. Use the Activate/Inactivate option to change the printing selections.

Changes have been done (GDMD38536)
This window is displayed if something has been changed/entered on the text panel which has not been saved yet.
- Save
- Indicate if you want to save the changes you have made and click OK.
Display text link (GDMD38537)
This panel displays information about text links for a document. Links to text defined for other documents can be created instead of copying and pasting the text. The advantage of links is that if the text is changed in the original document (to which the link is created), the text will also be changed in this document. This window displays information about the document to which you have created the link.
Note: If several links are inserted in the document text, they will be displayed in order of appearance (line number). Click OK to access the next link information panel.

- Displays the number of the text line where the link is inserted.
- Type
- Displays the document text type of the linked document.
Documents to be printed (GDMD38541)
This window is displayed if you click Doc from the Edit text (GDMD38501) panel. The window displays all documents on which the text should be printed. Valid documents per text type are defined in the Document text type table.
Edit text (GDMD38542)
This panel lists all existing text sets and all the documents that have been connected to this document text type. Indicate, for each text set and document, if the text should be printed.
