With the Data Conversion Tool you convert data from any iSeries physical file to any other iSeries physical files. The tool can, for example, be used to convert data from DC1 6.00 to DC1 7.00.
This panel displays the conversion sets and corresponding description, sequence and target library that have been set up in your system. In every conversion set you define a sequence, the name of the target library where the file(s), into which you want to convert data, is/are stored, the name(s) of the source library/libraries where the file(s), from which you want to convert data, is/are stored. You can also enter a program to run before and/or after converting the data. You can create, edit, copy, delete, display, and rename conversion sets.
From this panel you can also print a list of the conversion set’s specifications, run all of the conversion set’s specifications, access the Preload conversion set program, in which you can preload the conversion set with specifications base on the files in the source libraries and target library, access the Work with specification program, in which you can define specifications for converting data from one file or files to another, access the Work with default field functions program, in which you can define default conversion functions for fields that may appear in the conversion set’s specifications.
