This panel displays all languages defined in the Language table and you can add and change text for the different languages.
When the item is printed on external documents, such as Purchase orders, Order confirmation, etc., the extended item description note will be printed in the language defined for the supplier/customer.
You cannot add a new language code from this panel. This must be done in the Language table.
The item’s extended description can also be set up to be used in Item file search fields. The first line of any extended item description will be added to the Item file maintenance, Item search fields panel if the text for the extended item description is entered in the same language as the system language.
Note: Any extended item descriptions generated automatically from the layout definition in an item classification definition cannot be maintained. The applicable description for this item can only be generated/refreshed via the Rebuilding item descriptions routine.

- Language
- This column lists all the codes for languages defined in the Language table.
- Text
- Indicates if any text is associated with the corresponding language.
Item file maintenance, Extended item description (DMR01604)
On this panel you enter text which can be printed on the individual document printouts, according to your selection. A YES setting is automatically defaulted into the document printout fields for all empty text lines or when adding a new entry for an item.

- Item
- Displays the item code you are working with along with the description.
- Language
- Displays the code for selected language along with the description.
- Default codes
- Set to YES or NO, to be used as the default for the document printout fields below. The default codes defined can be updated into the document printout fields by clicking Default codes.
- Text
- Enter text in the 13 lines at your disposal. The text can be printed on the various documents outlined below.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Order quotation printout.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Order confirmation.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Pick list printout.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Transport note.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Invoice.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the Request for quote.

- Indicate if the connecting text should be printed on the delivery schedule documents.
