The purpose of this panel is to hold codes which define any special requirements needed in the handling of items during their storage and transportation. The handling and hazard codes are used in the following programs, tables and files:
- Item file
- Handling/hazard storage x-ref
- MOT/handling & hazard code exceptions
- Vehicle/handling and hazard code exceptions

Cross ref | Select this option to update the Work with handling/hazard storage x-ref program. This option is used to cross reference the items that must be stored and transported separately. |
Selection fields
- Code
- This column lists the existing handling/hazard codes.
- Dangerous goods
- Indicates if items with this code are classified as dangerous for transportation, storage and handling purposes. This is important in load planning and haulier notification, as dangerous goods may place special requirements on the nature of the vehicle used and the qualifications of the driver.
- Std HAZCHEM code
- Displays the standard Hazardous Chemicals code, as displayed on premises and vehicles, which denotes the nature of the dangerous chemical being stored or transported.
- Store away
- Indicates if the item should be stored away from other items.
- Special secur cat
- Displays a single character code used to classify items by security requirements.
- Max temperature
- Displays the maximum temperature which must not be exceeded during the transportation and storage of items with this code.
- Min temperature
- Displays the minimum temperature which must be maintained during the transportation and storage of items with this code.
- Temp sensitive
- Displays if items with this code are temperature sensitive during transportation and storage.
- Text line 1
- Displays the information entered on the first of three lines to further describe any other handling and hazard characteristics.
- Text line 2
- Displays the information entered on the second of three lines to further describe any other handling and hazard characteristics.
- Text line 3
- Displays the information entered on the third of three lines to further describe any other handling and hazard characteristics.
- Concentration/weight
- For items which contain dangerous substances such as bleach or acid it is necessary to record the concentration of this. Displays the concentration if it is measured by weight.
- Concentration/volume
- For items which contain dangerous substances such as bleach or acid it is necessary to record the concentration of this. Displays the concentration if it is measured by volume.
Work with handling/hazard codes (DIR08204)
On this panel you enter a new handling/hazard code of maintain an existing one. The code details define any special requirements needed in the handling of items during their storage and transportation. The handling and hazard codes are used in the following programs, tables and files:
- Item file
- Handling/hazard storage x-ref
- MOT/handling & hazard code exceptions
- Vehicle/handling and hazard code exceptions

- Dangerous goods
- Indicate if items with this code are classified as dangerous for transportation, storage and handling purposes. This is important in load planning and haulier notification, as dangerous goods may place special requirements on the nature of the vehicle used and the qualifications of the driver.
- Temp sensitive
- Indicate if items with this code are temperature sensitive during transportation and storage. If this field is set to YES, the Minimum temperature and Maximum temperature fields are mandatory.
- Minimum temperature
- Enter the minimum temperature which must be maintained during the transportation and storage of items with this code.
- Maximum temperature
- Enter the maximum temperature which must not be exceeded during the transportation and storage of items with this code.
- Std HAZCHEM code
- Enter the standard Hazardous Chemicals code, as displayed on premises and vehicles, which denotes the nature of the dangerous chemical being stored or transported.

- Special security cat
- Enter a single character which is used to classify items by security requirements, for example, to indicate small high-value items which require special secure storage. There is no table connected to this field.
- Store away fr others
- Indicates if the item should be stored away from other items. This field is set to NO by default and will be set to YES if one or more records are added in Work with handling/hazard storage x-ref program. To add or delete a record in that program, select the Cross ref option on the main panel.
- Text
- Information can be entered on these three lines to further describe any other handling and hazard characteristics.

- Displays the handling/hazard codes you selected to copy.
- New code
- Enter the new handling/hazard codes that you are creating.
