Set up user defined tables for use in DC1 Product Configurator

  1. Select the Work with user defined tables menu item.
  2. On the initial panel, click Add to create a new user defined table.
  3. You access User defined table maintenance. Complete the following fields:
  4. Table
    Enter a code that identifies the user defined table.
    Valid from
    Enter a date indicating from when the table is valid.
    Description
    Enter a description of the table.
    Text for value
    Enter the text that will be used as lead text/column heading for the values in this table.
    Numeric/alpha
    Enter N or A to indicate if the values used in user defined table details is numeric or alphanumeric.
    No of dec for value
    Enter the number of decimals for the values in this table. The range of decimals can be 0 to 3.

    Dimensions
    Create 1 or 2 table dimensions by completing information in the following fields:

    Key
    Enter a user defined table key to be used in this table.
    Search method
    Enter a code that indicates the search method to be used when searching for a record in the table. Permitted values:
    Code Description
    1 Equal
    2 Less than or equal to
    3 Greater than or equal to
    Use default
    Indicate if creation of a default value (blank/zero) for the key is allowed. The default value will be used if no matching key value can be found during the search.

    Click OK. You have created a new table and defined the keys that should be connected to it.

    Define the value combinations
    You must now define the value combinations to be used in the search when the table is used in a formula.

  5. Go back to the initial Work with user defined tables panel. Select the table that you have created and click Details.
  6. You access Work with user defined tables, Details. Click Add to define a new combination of values.
  7. You access User defined table maintenance, Details, listing the key(s) that you have connected to the user defined table. For each key value, or combination of key values, you must specify a calculation value. When the user defined table is used in a formula, the system will search for the defined key value combination and use the specified value in the calculation of the formula. (Tip: See Add a configurator formula for information about the search methods in the calculation).
  8. Complete the following fields:

    Key 1-2
    Enter the values for the primary and secondary keys that are defined for the table. Note: The names of the fields reflect the key(s) that has/have been defined for the table on the User defined table maintenance panel.
    Value
    Enter the value for the key or for the key combination. When a user defined table is used in a formula, this value is used in the calculation of the formula if the specified key value combination is found in the formula search. Note: The name of this field corresponds to the text that you entered in Text for value on the User defined table maintenance panel.
    Numeric/alpha value
    This field is only displayed when the value of the user defined table details is alphanumeric. Note: The name of the field corresponds to the text that you entered on the User defined table maintenance panel. Enter the alphanumeric value of the user defined table details.

    Click OK.

    Repeat this step until you have added all necessary combinations of key values. Exit the routine.
