Planning time enquiry (DIR15301)

This enquiry program is used to find out the planning time for an item at a warehouse, depending on, e.g., supplier, manner of transport, transport time, etc. The components that affect the planning time are also displayed.

The information displayed on the next panel is retrieved from the Item file, the Supplier file, the Supplier transportation table and the Internal transport time table.

Item
Enter the item, together with the receiving warehouse, for which you want to view the planning time.
Warehouse
Enter the receiving warehouse code from the Warehouse table, together with the item, to view the planning time.
Supplier
Enter the supplier, or short code, from which you want the item delivered, to view the planning time. If you leave the field blank, the Main supplier from the Item file will be used. This field is not to be completed if the From wh override field is completed.
Address number
In this field, the address from which your supplier will be sending your delivery is defined. A selection is made from pre-defined choices in the Address file. Note: This field is important, as the location of your suppliers’ various dispatch addresses will have an impact on the planning time. This is not a mandatory field, and if left blank, the suppliers default dispatch address will be utilised.
From wh override
Enter the supplying warehouse from the Warehouse table, from where you want the item to be delivered. If you leave the field blank and DC1 Inventory Control is installed, the Supplied from wh from the Item file will be used. If DC1 Inventory Control is not installed, the Main warehouse from the DIS control file will be used. This field is not to be completed if the Supplier field is completed.
Manner of transport
Enter the manner of transport from the Manner of transport table which you want to use when the item is delivered. If you leave the field blank, either the Manner of transport for the Main supplier in the Item file will be used for external replenishments, or the Default MOT in the Internal transport table will be used for internal replenishments.
BtB transit
Indicate if you want to display the replenishment information for transit deliveries.
BtB direct
Indicate if you want to display the replenishment information for direct deliveries.
External override
This field will automatically be set to YES on the next panel if you enter a supplier in the Supplier field on this panel. If the item/warehouse combination normally is supplied internally, you can set this field to YES to retrieve the main supplier from the Item file.
Internal override
This field will automatically be set to YES on the next panel if you enter a warehouse in the From wh override field on this panel. You can set this field to YES to get a planning time if the item/warehouse combination are to be internally supplied.

If DC1 Inventory Control is installed and activated, the warehouse in field Supplied from wh in the Item file will be retrieved. The planning time will then be calculated assuming that the item is supplied from that warehouse.

If DC1 Inventory Control is not installed, the main warehouse from the DIS control file will be retrieved and the planning time will be calculated assuming that the item is supplied from that warehouse.

Planning time enquiry (DIR15302)

This panel displays information about the parameters that affect the planning time. At the bottom of the panel, the total planning time in days is displayed, together with a planning time end, calculated from today’s date.

The panel is divided into two sections by a dashed line. Above this line a text is displayed, which informs you from where the item is supplied. Three different texts could be displayed:

Item supplied from supplier (external supply)

Item supplied from other warehouse (internal supply)

Internally manufactured item

Item
Displays the item and description.
Warehouse
Displays the receiving warehouse and description.
Supplier
Displays the supplier you entered on the previous panel (DIR15301), from where the item is to be delivered. If you did not enter any supplier on the previous panel, it displays the Main supplier from the Item file.

Note: If the Supplied from wh field displays a warehouse code, all replenishment information on the panel is based on the assumption that the item is delivered from that warehouse, and not from the supplier in this field, i.e. an internal supply.

Address number
Displays the dispatch address that has been selected for your supplier, on the previous panel (DIR15301). If no address number was entered, this field will then display the default supplier dispatch address. The name connected to this address is also displayed.
Supplied from wh
Displays the warehouse code you entered in the From wh override field on the previous panel (DIR15301), from where the item are to be delivered. If you did not enter any warehouse in the From wh override field on the previous panel, either one of the following is displayed:

  • The Supplied from wh in the Item file is displayed if DC1 Inventory Control is installed and activated
  • The main warehouse from the DIS control file is displayed if DC1 Inventory Control is not installed
Manner of transport
Displays the manner of transport entered on the previous panel (DIR15301), which will be used to transport the item. If you did not enter manner of transport on the previous panel, this field displays either the Manner of transport for the supplier, defined in the Item file or the Default MOT for the From whs override warehouse, retrieved from the Internal transportation time table.
BtB transit
Indicates if the replenishment information displayed is for transit deliveries.
BtB direct
Indicates if the replenishment information displayed is for direct deliveries.
External override
This field is set to YES if you manually entered a supplier on the previous panel (DIR15301), or if you set the External override field to YES, also on the previous panel.
Internal override
This field is set to YES if you manually entered a warehouse in the From wh override field on the previous panel (DIR15301), or if you set the Internal override field to YES, also on the previous panel.

Planning time values

In the column below, the fields containing values for the parameters used in the calculation of planning time are displayed.

Purch interval rem
This field is only displayed if DC1 Inventory Control is installed and the product belongs to purchase type 2 (periodical purchases). Displays the number of days remaining before a purchase suggestion is created. The value can be zero because of the following reasons:

  • The Intermediate purch field in the Periodic purchase table is set to YES
  • No days are remaining before a purchase suggestion is created, i.e. if you create a purchase suggestion now, this product will be checked to see if there is a need to purchase.

Note: The field is not displayed if the BtB transit or BtB direct fields were set to YES on the previous panel.

Administration time
Displays the administration time in days, which is the time it generally takes to handle a purchase order, from the creation of a purchase suggestion to creating the order. The administration time is retrieved from the DIS control file. No administration time is displayed if any of the BtB transit code and BtB direct code fields are set to YES.
Lead time
Displays the lead time in days. For items being purchased from an external supplier, the lead time is the time from when a purchase order is sent to the supplier, to the time when the item is sent from the supplier, in days. The value is retrieved from the Lead time field in the Item file (Supplier information panel).

For internal supply (i.e. the Supplied from wh field displays a warehouse code), the lead time is retrieved from the the Internal lead time field in the Item file for the supplying warehouse, if DC1 Inventory Control is installed. If DC1 Inventory Control is not installed, the internal lead time is retrieved from the Internal lead time field in the Warehouse table for the main warehouse.

BtB lead time
Displays the lead time in days for BtB (Back to backorder) deliveries. The lead time is the time from when a purchase order is sent to the supplier, to the time when the item is sent from the supplier. The value is retrieved from the BtB Lead time for the supplier in the Item file and is only displayed if any of the BtB transit code or BtB direct code fields are set to YES.
Transport time
Displays the transport time in days. The transport time is the time from when the item is sent from the supplier, or the supplying warehouse, to the time when the item is reported to the receiving warehouse. The value is retrieved from the Supplier transport time table or the Internal transport time table.
Planning time
Displays the total planning time in days. For normal deliveries (i.e. not BtB) this is the sum of the administration days, lead time and transport time. For BtB transit deliveries it is the sum of BtB (Back to backorder) lead time and transport time. For BtB direct deliveries it is the BtB lead time.

For items being manufactured internally, this is the sum of the administration days, lead time and transport time.

Production lead time
This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated, and if the item is produced (end-product or sub-assembly). Displays the production lead time retrieved from the item or item warehouse level.
Planning time end
Displays the date when the item is calculated to be received into stock if a purchase order is initiated today.

Note: It is not possible to deliver the item to a customer before the day after this date.

Production time end
This field is only displayed if DC1 Manufacturing is installed and activated, and if the item is produced (end-product or sub-assembly). The production end time indicates when a product could be in stock if a manufacturing order is entered today. This value is calculated based on the value in Production lead time.

Earliest ship date

This column is only displayed if the value in Planning time is greater than normal planning time. Indicates the earliest date the item can be shipped from the supplier. This date and the column below it are only displayed if an earliest shipment date exists for the item in the Item file/Supplier information file and if Earliest arrival date less today’s date is greater than normal planning time. The Lead time in the column is calculated based on this date.

Planning time enquiry (DIR15303)

This panel displays information about the parameters that affect the planning time for an internally manufactured item (if DC1 Manufacturing is installed). At the bottom of the panel, the total planning time in days is displayed, together with a planning time end, calculated from today’s date.
