This routine is used to split an asset, e.g. when disposing of only parts, and not an entire asset. You will then have to split it first, and then dispose of the split asset. It can also be used for splitting assets for other reasons. An asset may be split several times, and an asset which has been created from split, may be split in its turn.
When splitting an asset, you can either leave the balance on the original asset or direct the remaining amount towards a new asset, in which case the original asset will become closed for further handling. When splitting an asset, the system will, within the current accounting year, reverse the depreciation transactions for the original asset, and distribute it according to the selected split basis (acquisition value, asset quantity or a percentage).
An asset cannot be split if it is included in a disposal proposal, an update depreciation proposal or an inventory list.
