This program holds the barcode identifications valid for use within the iSeries. The 16 barcodes currently in use are preloaded into the panel and cannot be deleted. Only the descriptions are allowed to be changed. New barcode identifications which will become supported by the iSeries may be added to the program. If you plan on scanning barcoded labels when performing a reception to stock and/or a pick from stock, one barcode must be set as the default barcode to be used. This can be overridden on Business partner/Supplier file level (for reception scanning) if certain suppliers use specific barcodes.
Options
| Identifiers | Select this option to link the applicable application identifier to the barcode for the barcode scanning functionality. |
| Set default | Select this option for the applicable barcode to set it as the default barcode when labels are scanned during reception and picking. If you plan on using the Work with batch receive and pick program to scan the labels during the reception or pick, the default barcode is retrieved to the first scanning panel when scanning is started since at that point no business partner has been identified. It is possible to change it then. If you plan on using the Work with pickings routine (for pick scanning), the default barcode is retrieved. If you plan on using the Work with receptions (for reception scanning), it is possible to define an overriding barcode for the applicable supplier(s) in the Business partner file (on Supplier file level). |
| Unset default | Select this option for the applicable barcode to delete the default setting. |

- Barcode
- This column lists the existing barcode identification codes.
- Default
- This column denotes if this barcode has been set as the default barcode when scanning barcoded labels during reception and picking.
- Subset key number
- Displays either *STANDARD or *CUSTLOCAL. If *STANDARD, this is a barcode supported by iSeries and preloaded when the system was installed. If *CUSTLOCAL, this is a manually entered barcode, not supported by iSeries as standard.
