Adjust the forecast for a sales promotion

If you change the estimated or actual increase/decrease values, then the system will recalculate the forecast for the item/warehouse/period combination the next time inventory calculation is run.

  1. Select the Work with sales promotions menu item.
  2. On the main panel, select the applicable sales promotion and click Forecast det.
  3. You access Forecast details showing all the records for the selected sales promotion in item/warehouse/period sequence. Select the item and period that you want to adjust and click Change.
  4. You access the Forecast details detail panel on which you enter the estimated forecast adjustments, in quantity or percentage, and generate the forecast details for new or changed values. Complete one of the following fields:
  5. Estimated % increase
    If the estimated increase was defined with a percentage value when the forecast details were generated, this field displays the latest percentage used to calculate an estimated increase/decrease in demand per item/warehouse combination for the specified period. This value defines how much the calculated forecast should be adjusted.
    Enter the new estimated increase/decrease percentage (+ or -) by which the forecast should be adjusted.
    Estimated qty inc
    If the estimated increase was defined with a quantity when the forecast details were generated, this field displays the latest quantity used to calculate an estimated increase/decrease in demand per item/warehouse combination for the specified period. This value defines how much the calculated forecast should be adjusted.
    Enter the new estimated increase/decrease quantity (+ or -) by which the forecast should be adjusted.

    Click OK.

    Any old information will be updated if this program has been run for the selected sales promotion before. The system will recalculate the forecast for the item/warehouse/period combination the next time inventory calculation is run. See About working with inventory calculations for more information.
