In this file you define whether or not the OS/400 journalling function or triggers shall be activated for the data base audit management routine. The parameter shall not be changed once the system is in use. If OS/400 journalling is active, journal receivers will automatically be created by the system.
- Type of audit
- The valid audit types are:
1 Enter 1 for journalling handled by the Data Base Audit Management routine for the files and fields defined in that routine only. 2 Enter 2 to activate data base audit management for an existing journal(s). The Data Base Audit Management routine will then use the data already produced. Since OS/400 journalling logs all changes in the system, you must consider the effect on your storage media. Especially consider this if journalling transaction files. This could affect the performance of the system.
3 Enter 3 to perform a database audit through triggers instead of using journalling. This is advantageous if you use journalling for other purposes like high availability solutions.
