The batch clearance function takes the start date of the manufacturing orders into account when calculating the material shortage. For this reason, manufacturing orders with an earlier start date should be released before manufacturing orders that were created at a later stage.
Orders that can be released are those that have status 00 (preliminary) or 05 (Batch clearance). After release the orders receive status 10 (ready).
The shortage codes that are displayed in the batch clearance routine control if a manufacturing order can be released or not. Shortage codes for components and sub-assemblies are displayed for each manufacturing order.
Note: When releasing a manufacturing order the shortage code for the component or the sub-assembly can be either 2 or 3.
The following shortage codes exist for components and sub-assemblies:
Code | Cmp/Sub | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Component + Sub-assembly | Shortage |
2 | Component | Shortage, but open purchase order exists to cover the requirement and no sales order requirement exists for the item. |
2 | Sub-assembly | Shortage, but open manufacturing order exists to cover the requirement |
3 | Component + Sub-assembly | No shortage |
